For all the moans about Noel going all dance, it's surprising how Who Built The Moon has literally no dance tunes on it.
It's mad, it's eclectic, it's expansive, it's inspirations are incredibly varied and just not traditionally Noel inspirations. What a job David Holmes did with Noel in getting him to produce this. It's a damn loud album too, really full frontal in its production.
Three years after its release and it hasn't got tiresome one bit. A great great album, the album I always wanted to hear from Noel or Oasis for years.

I actually wouldn't mind an acoustic album from Noel at some point but not at the moment.

She Taught Me How to Fly has got a great dance-y, New Order vibe and kind of previewed some of the dance-y tracks on the EP.

I knew that She Taught Me How To Fly would be my favorite song from Who Built the Moon? since the trailer of the album was released, or at least one of my favorites. And is still one of my favorites from Moon along with The Man Who Built the Moon and If Love is the Law

Who Built The Moon? really is a fucking brilliant album. I really REALLY hope he doesn't backtrack because of the reaction it got I don't think he will. Outside of the MadFerIt lads, he got rave reviews for the album and people enjoyed how it was a different direction for him, and I think that's what he was going for, so that's a good sign for the direction of the next album.

Who Built The Moon? really is a fucking brilliant album. An absolutely fantastic album. I would only wish that he went in with a couple of songs and manipulate them to fit the album. That way, the whole thing would tighten up. The album is really good but there are one or two duds on there, IMO.

Who Built the Moon is only carefree and fun-sounding Gallagher album since Be Here Now, for me.
For that alone, leaving aside the tunes, I love it and hope Noel doesn't leave that energy behind.

Just found out Holy Mountain got certified silver in the UK back in february, his only certified single alongside What A Life and In The Heat Of The Moment WBTM is also 10/15k shy of going platinum, don't think it will get there but who knows

While I like Who Built The Moon and think it has some great tracks on it I still prefer Noel's second album Chasing Yesterday. That album for me is his best so far.

Does anyone know where I could find the credits for the EPs? Who plays what?

I see Dave Sardy co=produced the third EP. That would explain the plodding drudgery of Wandering Star then.....

Nah I think it's just because they re-used the Come On Outside demo Noel's the one that fucked up Wandering Star, which is a shame because I thought he did a really nice job on the This Is The Place EP and Blue Moon Rising sounds good as well

As much as I agree with you (I think it's one of Noel's worst ever) I believe the co-producer credit is due to Sardy producing Come On Outside. If I remember correctly other people are listed as producers for the other two songs.

I see Dave Sardy co=produced the third EP. That would explain the plodding drudgery of Wandering Star then..... The peeps above are correct. The vinyl sleeve explicitly calls out Sardy for production on Come On Outside alone. Noel produced Wandering Star and Emre Ramazanoglu mixed it. I’m afraid Noel is entirely capable of producing plodding drudgery all by himself... X

I'm not a massive fan of Come On Outside but it's ok. But then if Sardy produced it then that doesn't help the song anyway.

Another reason why Who Built The Moon is great, there’s nothing coming even close to plodding material there.
