The Chasing Yesterday leak was more than a year ago. I came home drunk, turned on the computer, and found everybody was going apeshit on the forum. It was a glorious night.

I hope Noel will play Some Might Say instead of Champagne Supernova. ANY oasis songs we haven't heard in years would be special. Some Might Say would be incredible. Yes. And/or that: The Girl In The Dirty Shirt would be great too.

Reading everyone's posts filled with excitement and reviews/descriptions of the songs after having just heard the songs is almost as much, if not more, fun as hearing the album for the first time yourself.

"the death of you and me" & "Riverman" are the greatest NGHFB songs.

What was that fake setlist of Noel before his first gig? The one with D'You Know What I Mean, One Way Road and Force Of Nature on it?

I'd still like to know the name of the FUCKING BASTARD who made up that setlist. Fuck him! He got us all excited for D'You Know What I Mean. I've been hoping to hear a new live version of it since I've been an Oasis fan.

Noel wouldnt play that now, any Liam oasis song he plays he usually changes it and makes it acoustic to fit with his style of vocals and probably so hes not trying to make it sound like a straight up cover when hes not going to be able to sing the same as Liam and while DYKWIM would work acoustic (as hes played it before) it probably wouldnt be that great live because that song is all about its power.

I don't know if you've ever heard Noel live, but he has a pretty full voice. And D'You Know What I Mean isn't exactly a difficult song to sing, except the "I met my maker.." part. Since he can do TIOBI and TDOYAM, I'm sure this one shouldn't be a problem. Would love to hear it. As long as he doesn't do something like Cigarettes and Alcohol, which doesn't suit his voice at all, I'm fine.

You might have a point here, but I'm still dying to hear it in one form or another. I'm sure it would be great as an acoustic-based track with some cool electric guitar fills and some psychedelic keyboards. It doesn't have to be a carbon copy of the original.

I think he could do it but he wont because he likely wouldnt want to draw comparisons between him and Liam if he straight up played it like they did in oasis or maybe he simply sees it as a respect thing that he cant outdo Liams version so changes it as to not replace him as such, an acoustic version would take away most of what makes the song great, Noel hardly ever plays a Liam song like it was orginally intended since the BHN days (which he only did because Liam wasnt there or whatever) I would love to hear an electric wonderwall like he did during the BHN tour but he just wont do it, it annoys me abit that he has to make everything acoustic when hes fully capable of singing the proper version or a more powerful version than slowed down acoustic.

I'm sure it's a respect thing. He's stated plenty of times Liam sings certain songs better (which is true to a certain extent these days, but definitely was true years ago). I don't mind most of his acoustic versions, except Wonderwall and Whatever. I don't really mind It's Good To Be Free (although I prefer the Liam version), but it's just that it's been played to death.

I fear that Noel will always be reticent to play these antemic Oasis rock tunes (Some Might Say, D'You Know What I Mean?, Rock'n'Roll Star, Morning Glory, etc) only because of the fact he feels that they "belong" to Liam. And as much as I love Liam's performances on these songs, Noel shouldn't feel that way.
After all, it's HIS songs. He wrote them. It's really tiring the way he prevents himself of doing some things.

I just think he could do more with the songs, beady eye created that live forever acoustic / electric hybrid towards the end of the tour. take this for example, its acoustic but has more attitude (even though the version he did do was great), he could insert the guitar parts after the choruses like he does here but with an electric guitar, its different but retains the old feel.

As he is always going on about how they are his songs and not Oasis songs and obviously did not like Liam with Beady Eye doing any Oas, ah, Noel Gallagher songs, I don't think it is to do with respect, maybe more that he feels he could not do them justice? He has a good voice, but it lacks that certain je ne sais quois, that oomph, that roughness. All in my opinion, of course. I for one dislike him acoutistifying songs, because to me it just does not feel right to pull the electric teeth of those powerful songs like f.ex. "Morning Glory" and turn them into plodding acoustic ballads. But I am looking forward to the live experience of my Noel gigs, because I am very curious to see if "real" live does change my perception, if he does something like he did with "Champagne Supernova" recently.
