I'm just happy I finally get Black Star Dancing on a CD. By the way, why doesn't he and Liam release the singles on CD? Wouldn't be worth it? I'd buy it. No one listens to CD’s anymore. I've bought 5 CD this week. 🤟

I don’t think they sell. Look at his store and there are CD singles available from the debut album. That's why I'm purchasing them right now as we speak. Changing the trend. I ended up buying the What a Life and If I Had a Gun CD singles, the Dying of the Light green 7 inch vinyl, the deluxe CD version of Who Built the Moon and the 3 CD deluxe version of Back the Way We Came. I don't deserve it but whatever.

I wish they would have Remastered or Remixed the NGHFB tracks for the new compilation. The production is so dire on that album.

I still listen to CDs all the time. Me too and I just bought 3 more. This is what I'm talking about. I really like going to my local CD shop, buying CDs on clearance for a dollar or two, and trying them out. It's like mystery meat. This is how I have found some of my favorite artists (and how I first heard Oasis by picking up Morning Glory on clearance).

This is how I have found some of my favorite artists (and how I first heard Oasis by picking up Morning Glory on clearance). I use to do that all the time at my local record shop. Hit that $1 CD bin. Found loads of good stuff I’d rip to MP3 or listen in my car. The problem is that now my cars don’t have CD players. So that kind of killed off this pastime of mine.

The only CDs I really buy any more are expanded soundtrack releases from the likes of LaLaLand Records or Intrada.
When it comes to pop and rock I stream stuff and then the stuff I really like I buy on vinyl.
I’d say Who Built the Moon? Was the last pop/rock cd I bought.

Possibly a bit random this BUT I’m starting to view Noel’s middle-period in the same way I do JJ Cale’s music. It’s not “hit” material - it doesn’t smack you straight in the gut - but there’s a vibe to it.

Riverman The Dying Of The Light The Right Stuff Ballad Of The Mighty I While The Song Reimans The Same We're On Our Way Now*

Disc 2 of Noel’s best of is a complete mystery. He made so much good music between ‘17-‘20 that you’re really spoilt for choice picking the best ones, and still he got it wrong.

Death rattle time.

Maybe I just think less of it because there were far better first singles on DOYS (Bag It Up, The Turning), but it’s always struck me as Noel writing to spec. Sony pulled up to Noel’s drive thru, ordered a big rock song, and it was made by the time they drove up to the window.

What you just described is the story about DBTT and Lyla.

I am always amazed by all the effort that went into DBTT and how it was recorded about 3 different times between the UK and LA. Just exactly what was DBTT going to be before the record executives got involved and told Noel he was short on singles (so Noel tossed in Lyla and Idle) in addition to Dave Sardy demanding Let There Be Love be on the album. That the album's singles!!!!!! This could have been a giant shit sandwich.
