Baffling how rubbish like Lock All The Doors and The Mexican got on Chasing Yesterday but Sail On didn't.

The production is bland and the vocals annoy me.

"production is bland" man, RNR is bland

I'm glad that Lock All The Doors is on Chasing Yesterday as I've always liked it. But I've never really liked Sail On much and I'm glad that it wasn't on any of his albums.

Regarding the rest of Chasing Yesterday, this is my favourite. Best one on the album and genuinely one of the best songs he's written.
Very wistful and melancholic. Never twee with it. It kind of encapsulates the key ingredients to what makes him a great songwriter, even for those songs dressed up in anthemic and euphoric sounds.

One of his best melodies and awesome production. Can't believe it's not in his live set, it would a perfect set opener with that intro... And I remember he struggled a lot of find the right opener for the CY tour

It kind of encapsulates the key ingredients to what makes him a great songwriter, even for those songs dressed up in anthemic and euphoric sounds. And it contains the most romantic lyrics Noel has committed to a song: “We can dance beneath the fireflies on an empty road.....”

I'm glad that Lock All The Doors is on Chasing Yesterday as I've always liked it. But I've never really liked Sail On much and I'm glad that it wasn't on any of his albums. Same, LATD is alright. And quite a few Noel tunes from his 1st two albums I would say are "dad-rock", I don't think LATD is alone in that regard.

Everybody's on the Run (and HFB1) is Noel's ultimate apology letter to Be Here Now and the album it should've been, and I appreciate that a lot. Very audible brass and string sections, choir vocals mixed well, a couple of songs that mess around with different electronic elements and odd instruments & touches... everything BHN was shaped up to be until they threw a bajillion guitar tracks on it and made it extremely repetitious.

I'm just happy I finally get Black Star Dancing on a CD. By the way, why doesn't he and Liam release the singles on CD? Wouldn't be worth it? I'd buy it.
