I can't believe I've been a fan of this band for so long and it only just dawned on me that the first single had the opening lyric 'I need to be myself, I can't be no-one else', while the second single starts off 'I'd like to be somebody else'. It's like a perfect ying and yang, I always wondered why they chose Shakermaker as the second single but I feel like that might be a big part of the reason why.

I always thought BIOD was meant to be the 2nd single but they couldn't get the recording right so they went with Shakermaker.

Alan McGee wanted the first single to be bring it on down. The band went into the studio to record it in December 1993, however, they couldn’t get it right and wrote and recorded supersonic instead.

On this day in 2007 Oasis released their Lord Don't Slow Me Down single. Not one of their best I know.

why does andy bell get some much hate (not hate but dismissed so much) on this forum he’s honestly the most talented musician oasis had and he’s a properly nice bloke, lots of people seem not fussed if he’s part of the reunion but i don’t think it would be the same without him there

Their loss imo I think Andy is a good musician.

I think that’s more so on Noel for picking that song though than him contributing it.

I put my FTM DVD in the DVD player this weekend...then the player spit it back out and said "disc error."
After swearing at it and pleading for a while, it finally worked. But maybe it's time to rip a backup, eh?
Also - I forgot that the transitions/effects look like an elderly person was told to make a presentation and given access to Powerpoint for the very first time.

Then the reunion has come up and it's oh by the way you're needed again lads.

No doubt he's more "technically proficient" than Noel on a guitar but does it matter? Any good jazz or classical guitarist can smoke any famous rock guitarist when it comes to technical ability, but so what? That's not what it's about. As a writer an arranger, Noel is/was leagues above Bell. That's musicianship.

Two different kind of people but one is very common, the other is few in a generation. Andy's material can never match Noel's. But he's a huge bass player. As a guitarist i dont see much differences.

Wake up the dawn and ask her why
A dreamer dreams she never dies. Wipe that tear away now from your eye.
I think that's a quintessential Noel lyric. You either respond to or you don't; and for myself -- and I expect most of us on here --I see a lot of value in it.

Noel is not good at experimenting though, but he doesnt need to.
