Noting the comment on the US TOUR stating this is “your last chance” and the fact Noel will sell the rights to the music next year, I’m convinced this is a bookend to not just oasis but to the Gallaghers music career. I think this is as much a farewell tour than anything else. Grab a load of cash, experience big stadium-esque venues like the old days and then disappear from public life to live happily ever after. I think this is the end that potentially would’ve come sooner were it not for the 15 yr breakup…. That's of course entirely possible. This will be a massive payout and they've achieved everything and more already. Maybe Noel and Liam might keep releasing some songs/albums in the future when it suits them, as solo artists, but they don't really have to tour much after this. Touring is what Liam likes, though. He makes albums so he has an excuse to tour.

According to reports Apple are the front runners for the doc at the moment. I really hope they don't get it, Apple TV is shit Apple TV+ is great. It just doesn’t have a lot of content. What it has is very good though. Amazon Prime has a lot of content but 105% of it is crap. I’ve got a Prime account for free shipping and I never watching anything on Prime at all. Apple have high production values and more artistic merit. They’re absolutely the best choice for a music doc.

I just remembered how in the early 00s Noel would constantly talk about an amazing song he had written called Stop The Clocks. In every album cycle he'd talk about Stop The Clocks, hyping and teasing.
Then in 2006 a compilation album is announced with the title Stop The Clocks and... the song isn't included.

Never take what Noel Gallagher says serious because he's a gemini (like myself). Stop The Clocks is such a dull song.

Chris Martin going heavy on praise for Tony at 49:25 here.
I’m on team Alan, but this is what the band makeup matters to me at least!

And he played it with Gem and the hype grew even more. No surprise since I like most of the tunes the crowd dislikes, but I enjoy the song, but the fact is it was DOA for most because of the hype built up beforehand. Never had a shot, and it's Noel fault tbh. Just like Record Machine. Still glad we got to hear them.

Haha, the famous Noel "best song I ever wrote" Although, he did come through when he mentioned Dead in the Water years before. Also -- and this is a deep cut -- he did say Whatever was amazing in a short article before the single was released (it was the one where Liam called the b-side "shite")

I think it had the potential to be a big song but never really got the right treatment. If I remember correctly they recorded it in every album cycle since HC, a dream release for RSD would be an EP with every version recorded (one of each era HC, DBTT, DOYS).

Deep down he knows so many of those Coldplay albums were shit like Spheres and no chance Moon Music is good. Max Martin for another 2 albums!?!??!?!? Shit. They don't need him. He sucks the soul out of Coldplay but I feel like its because Chris wants it like that.

I would’ve had Chris Martin down as more of an Alan fan, especially after mentioning the swing & the roll. Alan was inspired by Charlie Watts & even met him for tea once he said on his ig page. However I’m chuffed for Tony getting some high profile love there

Liam should have had him play at the DM, would have been a very nice gesture
You never know, they might play the songs through the years amd bring different members on?

Of all the things that might happen Tony McCarroll is the very last thing that might. The fact he has never played at a Liam gig speaks volumes. It’ll never happen.

there’s obviously a tooooooon of things to sort out, like how they’ll deal with each other on tour , but i’m glad both noel and liam continued doing music pretty shortly after oasis were over.
they’re constantly musically “alive” so you know they never really rusted in a sense. Like McCartney still chugging them out at 82! Thinking about this while playing Whatever makes me very happy right now. Maybe it’s the music lol
Free to do whatever and probably cause bigger issues but decide to make music instead

Where as I tend to watch stuff on Amazon Prime or some of their other channels which I have more than any other streaming sites which I have.

Apple TV is great. Slow Horses etc, very good TV on there. And Masters of the Air, Manhunt, Ted Lasso, Greyhound. There’s some great stuff in there there just can’t a lot of quantity. But Amazon and Netflix etc. buy catalogue stuff to pad it out and have more content. Going just on their own productions Apple is making the most consistently good stuff at the moment.

If Tony was going to make an appearance it wouldve been a Liam solo gig. We know hes still not on speaking terms with Noel. The fact he hasnt made an Oasis-linked gig appearance since 1995 pretty much guarantees he wont show up at any of their future gigs.
