We're coming up to another anniversary of Don't Believe The Truth and that album will also be 20 years old soon as well.

I can’t believe this July marks 20 years since Heathen Chemistry. Time flies. What a dumb and uninspiring name for a greatest hits compilation. Just so very dumb.

Let There Be Love come on in tesco earlier (no don't worry i didn't remember a song i'd written from 1992 in the process) and it sounded mega. Probably first time i've heard it in public.

Fuck that plodding song, terrible Liam vocals, and a huge missed opportunity. Boggles my mind how that made it to a public playlist… two decades after the fact. No. I’m not having any of this.

Pass Me Down The Wine is one of Liam's best songs I've always loved that song but I don't think it's one of Liam's best though.

Pass Me Down The Wine is one of Liam's best songs It has its moments but it’s a song I could do without. I think “I believe in all” is a better version of what this song was meant to be. That one should been properly released as a bside.

Every time I listen to Some Might Say, something about the intro just makes me want to smile, like meeting an old friend.
It’s not my favourite Oasis song, but if I had to name the prime example of that “feel-good rock” quality they’re often hailed for, it would have to be that one (though Slide Away comes close). From Liam’s vocals to the guitar fills, the whole of SMS just sounds joyful.

On this day in 1996 Oasis announced their Knebworth gigs.

Got a nice melody to it, but what a fucking abomination of a recording. Noel's a fucking idiot for allowing it to be released like that and that song alone was enough for Dave Sardy to be put on trial for crimes against humanity. Ultimately, it's all Noel's fault. He's all revisionist these days and says words to the effect of 'fuck the others, they didn't want to do anything remotely different' in terms of sounds. But he was the one who appointed Sardy and then stuck rigidly with him for years.

Ultimately i think Noel looks at the success of the albums he worked on, especially his debut solo album, and puts that above anything else. I think he tried to get him back for the 2nd solo album too if i'm correct.

God knows why though as Sardy is a terrible producer and I'm glad that he didn't work with Noel on his second album.

God knows why though as Sardy is a terrible producer and I'm glad that he didn't work with Noel on his second album. What I’d say is that he has peaks and valleys on Oasis or Oasis-related work more than any other producer. Really thought he got the three singles on DOYS sounding great, while some of Noel’s 1st album had great songs sound like plodding dad-rock. So I think he can be good but is just too inconsistent.
