Still loving the cocaine-fueled mess that is Be Here Now.

I will never understand how Liam re-discovered his iconic voice, to his best since the early 2000s.
The geezah still has it - still the coolest man on the planet. Love this performance, nice little variation in the sound. This version makes me happy. Liam nails this. Legend.

Considering Noel Gallagher’s self admitted songwriting affinity of ‘borrowing’ many elements from an eclectic array of bands, Oasis need not bother with an actual induction to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame seeing as the band are the comprehensive embodiment of the entire musical Institution.
Oasis definitively are the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

I think it's a mixture of being on his last leg with career options, figuring out his Hashimoto's issues, showing up to soundchecks, and capitalizing on the success of the movie "Supersonic" that really got people hyped up about Oasis again. It all lined up perfectly.

So, a new achievement for Oasis today. WTSMG becomes their first album to reach 500 weeks on the UK Album Chart.
Just the fourth studio album ever to reach 500 weeks after Rumours, Dark Side of The Moon and Bat Out Of Hell. Hence also the only post-1970s studio album to do so to date.
Congrats guys.

Still amazing to see that album carries on achieving records and people are still discovering how brilliant it actually is. It will always be the album of my life, I'm sure it's the same for many people on this forum. The stars were aligned for a masterpiece to be created that year. Having two of the greatest ever singles in Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger doesn't hurt it's longevity however 🙂

I love when your record collection is eclectic enough to recognize different bands incorporated in musician’s works. Oasis are excellent for doing this with Noel’s affinity of ‘borrowing.’
For me. The Stone Roses and Slade are all over Noel’s sound, but the more I listen - and the catalyst for this post - I’ve started hearing quite a bit of The Smiths sounding guitar work throughout Noel’s solos. Hello outro is an excellent example. But yeah, Stone Roses, Slade, and The Smiths.
I’m not counting Tue Real People here as that’s more plagiarism - I’m talking here about adopting the actual sounds.

Get off your high horse lady, I don't need a ride tonight.
This actually is a decent lyric. I really enjoy Noel’s word play - this has always been the crux of his songwriting, right from the beginning.
Slowly walking down the hall/Faster than a cannonball is another excellent example of what I’m talking about. As are the couplets in Some Might Say, which is some of Noel’s best ever lyrics.
Noel’s word play is why we get so many one liners, and couplets that are so insightful whilst in a song full of nonsensical and no real inherent meaning.
There’s a real subtle, hidden and understated genius to Noel - he has many true talents.

(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady is one of Oasis's worst songs with some of the worst lyrics.

It's "Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball." Noel was probably high when he wrote most of the lyrics anyway.

Yeah, I agree. And, he probably was when he wrote most of the (What's The Story) Morning Glory? album.

High Horse Lady is a fun little tune. Agreed. Very nice segue into Falling Down. And then the album turns to proper shit.

Such a shame Liam couldn't be bothered to sing Record Machine and Come On, It's Alright. In fairness, I think TBWTL is properly good, however their plan to remove all guitars on the studio version made it suffer greatly. The live version comes alive.

It's 27 years ago today since Oasis released their best single Live Forever. A classic in the making.

And, later on this month it'll be 27 years ago since Definitely Maybe was released. That album will soon be 30 years old.

I actually really don’t curse that fucking much, and rarely do I in spoken speech, reserved purposely for written material. Fuck is my favorite swear word, as the versatility is so strong and adds the much required effect.
I present to you my full inspiration, and the very legend himself, Mr. Liam ‘fucking’ Gallagher.

Didn't realise Oasis practiced Bag It Up in 2009 but didn't play it coz it sounded shit
Listening to the Nagoya 2009 bootleg yesterday and someone in the crowd asked him to play it, and he responded with that

Still remember what I thought when I was watching that: "Very handsome man, but a bit arrogant and why does he stand so weirdly?! Wonder if that's the good or the bad Oasis brother?"
About a year later all my questions were answered.
