Roll It Over should have been a single. Agreed, it's a top tune.

To all the people that own Heathen Chemistry on vinyl... Does it include the cage after better man?
Assuming without the mega gap like on the CD.
Apologies if this has come up before, just asking for my dad.

My two repress of 2009 and 2018 have The Cage (not listed) but the song is not included in my original copy from 2002 (European pressing). I never noticed it before your question.

Last night my good friend and I had an amazing 4-hour phone conversation where we presented our lists of Top 5 favourite Oasis songs + 2 honourable mentions (We had long talked about having a conversation like this, and it finally happened). It was such a great talk where we discussed so much about the band and why we love them and what makes Oasis great and what they mean to us. Gosh, I wish I had recorded it for a podcast. nevertheless, here's what we came up with. Pretty amazing that top 4 (and particularly our no. 1) lined up with each other.
His:
HM- Bring it on Down HM- Columbia
5. D'you Know what I mean? 4. Listen Up 3. Don't Look Back in Anger 2. Slide Away 1. Some Might Say
Mine:
HM- (I got) The Fever HM- Whatever
5. It's Getting Better (Man!!) 4. Don't Look Back in Anger 3. Slide Away 2. Listen Up 1. Some Might Say
I'm so happy that him and I can still have such have in-depth conversations like this over 10 years after the band broke up. There's something so unexplainably wonderful about Oasis and I hope the appreciation of this band can continue to grow!

John Squireโs guitar solo on Champagne Supernova at Knebworth is dreadful. I love his playing on the Roses first album but his guitar wankery after that made any music he did much worse, which also happened when he played with Oasis.
I quite like Johnny Marrโs solo at Barrowlands. Itโs strange to see him play a long solo, bending strings etc.. pretty much the opposite to anything he had been known for, but it was far better than Squireโs.
Iโd still take Noelโs live soloโs over them though. Oasis songs never needed anything too flashy.

Be Here Now and Heathen Chemistry both have 11 tracks with an instrumental to finish. However HC is only 5 minutes longer than BHN and it has 30 minutes of silence!
Really digging BHN at the moment.

The biggest problem with the later oasis album is they didnโt have a real producer who was willing to tell them when some songs needed more work or just not that good. I know Sardy is a producer but his role was more mixing and engineering, not a visionary.
It seems Who Built The Moon? Was the first time Noel had truly had a producer that was willing to tell him when something could be better, needs work etc..
Had Oasis had a producer like that from 2002 onwards, I think they couldโve made some really good albums. I believe between the demos, the songs hear and whatnot, there was enough really good ideas to make better albums if they had been worked on more with a different vision.
I get the feeling Noel had always been reluctant to hand over real production duties, and maybe thatโs why the Death In Vegas and AA sessions never really worked out.
Then again, when your album is going to go to no.1 regardless and selling out world tours, maybe you get complacent by that point . You do wonder how much they REALLY cared about making great albums later on. They couldโve worked with any producers they wanted but settled for mediocrity.

It's 21 years ago today since Oasis played their first night at Wembley Stadium. Crazy.

I must admit that I haven't listened to this version of Champagne Supernova in a very long time. But no its not the best live version of the song which is a shame especially as it was at Knebworth of all places.

I agree the Champagne Supernova's at Knebworth weren't the best (top 15 though), it was either the second night in Cardiff 1996 or Earls Court first night in 1995.

If Noel didn't fuck it up and instead accepted to be in the Trainspotting soundtrack, what song d'you think would've been good in it?
Columbia-C&A-Bring It On Dow could've been fitting choices I guess

Just seen this video and I'm amazed by the quality (the video quality):
Obviously I've seen glastonbury 04 before but this video looks actual HD quality. It's so clear. Didn't realise this gig was shot in HD. Kind of bizarre to see a gig from this era in such great quality. For a second I thought it was something from 08 or 09 that had been given the wrong title. Liam looked cool that night so nice to see it in hd. It looks like it could have been shot yesterday. The whole gig in this quality must exist out there somewhere (not that most of us would want to see it again)

Cocaine enthusiast Noel Gallagher, wrote the lines to his story in the 1990s.

Its no coincidence that the Dallas Cowboys dynasty ended in 1996 just as Oasis took off in 1996. They stole Michael Irvin's cocaine.

Terrible gig, they sound like a cover band.

But if I do listen to it I have to be in the mood for it.
