Didn't he said he was going to take some time to rest? Like 3 years or some? I honestly hope that we have a single and a b-side at the end of the year and that's it until 2021. I mean, I'd love to have a new record as soon as posible but I prefer that he takes some time to decide the direction. I don't want the next album to be more of the same. 3rd album ALWAYS have to be a change in the creative direction I agree, Oasis didn't change on their third album, and it was terrible. Terrible?  Be Here Now is AMAZING! Love to hear liam sing songs as solid as Stand by Me.. Dont Go Away... DYKWIM... All Around The World.. Girl in a Dirty Shirt (personal fav) .. Be Here Now was the last Oasis album I could listen to from start to finish.. no skip .. even Magic Pie is a fun quirky song... Tons of guitar lead and interesting tracking in the outros.. I mean if you want 3 and a half minute songs then the album isn't for you but I would be ecstatic if liam had a Be Here Now moment on the next album. |

HC and SOTSOG were both much better, so was DOYS. Nah, it's over-produced as fuck but the songs have quality and the record deserves to be re-imagined like Noel did with the lead single. Tunes like DGA, SBM, DYKWIM, AATW are excellent and leagues above the better tunes on those two records you mentioned, specially HC as tunes like Falling Down from DOYS are proper quality. It does have some stinkers, as all Oasis records have post Morning Glory, but the highs are excellent. HC is completely shite bar two/three songs (THT, LBL and SCYHO). DOYS' last half (i'm not that crazy for the first half, but it's a consistent batch of songs in quality, which was rare in the MKII era) is full of so many abysmal songs that just kills the flow of the record and brings it down so much. The first half is likely the best thing Oasis did post 2000, but the second half is up there with the worst things they ever put out on a record. Also, i do have a soft spot for SOTSOG and if the band had waited a bit more and Noel's mojo was back, the tunes were there for that to be a classic. As it is, it's a decent record, with some excellent tunes in Gas Panic, Go Let It Out, WDIAGW and Roll It Over but also has some serious duds going in it. The B-sides from that era are good however, which you can't say from the HC days and with the exception of Boy With The Blues, also about the DOYS era. |

The tunes are just bad. Shit. No good. No remix,remaster,reimagine, or re-anything will change that. The songs suck, the lyrics suck. Everything sucks! Rant over.

There's more joy in the thirty seconds of All Around the World when the final set of choruses burst in than there is in Oasis' entire post-2000 career, most of all on the colourless mush of Heathen Chemistry.

I disagree with a lot he says in this video, but for the most part it's a spot on analysis. They did release many songs better than RWI and they were even better after BHN.
