Pretty sure he’s on The Masterplan cover in the classroom somewhere.
That wasn’t him on SBM, the story is in the BHN Box book.

Why didn't the other Japanese singles get this treatment? That thick, heavy, SMS demo that was released on the SMS Japanese single should have seen the light of day on the CTS reissue. Especially with the acoustic “demo” from Nagoya in Sept 1994, it would have provided a bit of a timeline on the evolution of this important Oasis song. I think this version recorded in Maison Rouge studios in Fulham July 1994? During the same session as Whatever? Either way, it’s a great demo with a different feel to the song. I appreciate how Fran Healy shone a light on this on one of his podcasts, giving it some respect. |

Oasis were doomed from the start. And that's because the main guy..were 2 guys actually. Noel never had the whole package, nor did Liam. They weren't Lennon or Cobain who had it all: the songwriting, charisma, legendary voice or the looks. The Gallaghers were split from the start. Oasis was great because of Noel AND Liam. I think that's the tragedy of their legacy. As they grew older, they started thinking they could do it on their own(Beady Eye and NGHFB).
What's also sad is that more and more people turn to Liam's gigs to hear songs written by Noel. Let that sink in.
They were always meant to play together..sadly they grew apart.

Songs like DLBIA, CNS and CA are all pretty dense and have lots of things going on. It's a real shame that everything got crushed in the mix because DLBIA has some really interesting guitar and e-bow parts |

Liam's vocal take on The Hindu Times' album version is awful. How he says babe at the end of "Cause God give me soul in your rock'n'roll" line is pretty much Kermit.
Just another example of the lack of quality control on the HC process. They could, and should have done another vocal take on that. This is even more apparent when you listen to THT and then Songbird to spot the differences in vocal takes.

It always sounded like they sped the whole song up to me and Liam's vocals got chipmunked as a result. Anyway my thought for today is the xylophone solo thing in Sitting Here In Silence On My Own is incredibly soothing and deserves to be longer. |
