I remember that first one, now. Clearly something happened in South America. I seem to remember Liam posting a tweet at the time as well. Something about him, Andy and Gem playing a gig on their own or something. Can't remember. I think this "gig" was in Chile where Gem and Andy found an artist that they both liked one of their cds or something like that.

Finally got it for a more than decent price after all these years! Well done! Out of curiosity, are the tracks (2LP I’m assuming) arranges the same way as on the recent/2009 reissue? As in: Side A: tracks 1-4 Side b: 5-7 Side c: 8-10 Side d: 11-14

I’ve not got the more recent ones to check against that though.

God, I wish the album version sounded more like this.

God, I wish the album version sounded more like this. I prefer the album version as it is, it’s just unbeatable in terms of sheer, brutal noise and confusion. This is the Oasis track that separates the fans from the general public. To many it’s just noise and too much of it (not hard to understand that point). But Theres a lot more going on in this song than meets the eye, it’s one of my top favourites. The live versions, to me, are all spectacular. It was such a treat to have it in the setlist.

Still listen to this fairly regularly, certainly one of the best performances of live forever. Wouldve never believed in 2013 that he could sound this good again. The final chorus is 90s level.
fair play to coldplay for producing a great instrumental as well. Certainly the best Ive heard outside of oasis.

God, I wish the album version sounded more like this. No way! The album version I get is too loud and long but by God it's in my top 5 Oasis songs. ❤ The 2009 live MBM's are good but the piano is so ferocious everytime it's off putting.

Actually there's no piano in the Eden version.
But wtf was up with Noel during this period?
He keeps singing over Liam ffs. It's infuriating and he's shit.

Ten years ago today, Noel let the crowd sing the entirety of Don’t Look Back in Anger without him. Incredible moment. #madferit

God, I wish the album version sounded more like this. God no. Leaving out the main riff in 2009 was an absolute travesty. Knebworth performance is the definitive version for me.

I’ve been thinking a lot about BHN lately. Noel’s always maintained that one of the reasons he doesn’t like it is because he says the lyrics are rubbish.
My question is: do any of you feel that way?
Because, personally I love a lot of the BHN albums lyrics. Lots of neat word play and imagery, or whatever. Take the verses of Fade In Out for instance or many lines in TGITDS. The title track has some of my favourite Oasis lyrics: “wash your face in the morning sun/flash your pan at the song that I’m singing” etc
It’s not deep, dark or probing (like much of SOTSOG era tunes) but that in my opinion doesn’t take away from the fact that these are wonderful: fun, playful, awkward, poignant, brash, optimistic.

Soldier on could have been an incredibile song but it's so repetitive so it's OK but not great

Finally got it for a more than decent price after all these years! I was quite late to the Oasis party getting into them in early 2000 and I cannot explain the delight of listening to this album for the first time! Honestly this is what cemented them as my favourite band of all time, what a collection of songs

There's an interview with Noel where he tells his version of that night at Maroon 5's house too, but can't remember what interview it was.
