I think Some Might Say is the best Oasis a-side ever.

Let there be love came on me shuffle today, should’ve done more duets them 2. Class stuff. So much potential to that song that was intentionally undermined - Noel is on record stating that he intended to keep it stripped down (despite, imo, it’s begging for the kitchen sink treatment). Second Noel sung verse was needed. And cut the annoying extended outro. You do all of the above and LTBL would become one of Oasis’ best songs instead of being the mediocre 6.5/10 that it ended up being. Terribly wasted potential.

How is I Got the Fever the best-produced track of the Be Here Now era?? It sounds class! All 3D and layered and sonically pleasing and textured! Why couldn't they have made Stand By Me or All Around the World sound that good? Fucking hell, the most frustrating band of all time.

There is some cool keyboard work in the solo that doesn't come out at all and there's some good drumming on that song too.

Just looking at the top selling albums in the U.K.
Always makes me wonder of all the people that bought Morning Glory (in the top five best selling list), why the hell did they never buy Definitely Maybe. Fucking hell, even Snow Patrol and Keane are in the top 60 and Definitely Maybe’s nowhere to be seen.
Majority of all these buyers must be people who only buy music from Tesco.

I'll be damned if 'Champagne Supernova' isn't the most flawless piece of music Oasis ever set to record.
Maybe not the overall best songwriting, but as a recording it is fantastic!

Like I genuinely would rather listen to The Fame over Champagne Supernova lol.

I had a dream last night that I had to share here.
Someone on this forum (can’t recall who it was but it definitely wasn’t Beady’s mighty Eye) managed to get Oasis to get together to perform a one off gig for us. Which was amazing. But the real surprise was the opening act: another little band called The Verve!
All I recall was that Verve opened their set with Beautiful Mind and closed it with Butterfly. Which would have been incredible to witness.
(I don’t think Verve ever played Beautiful Mind live did they?)

I know its quite inconceivable to fans on here but Morning Glory is a better loved album. If we take our fan hats off for a minute then it isn't difficult to see why Champagne Supernova, Don't Look Back In Anger and Wondereall are much more appealing to the wider public than anything on Definitely Maybe. For a start, not everyone is going to love the raw punk sound of Definetely Maybe. It was very much an "indie" record. Morning Glory had much more commercial appeal and the big songs on it weren't just big, they were absolute monsters.

Might be a little early to think about it but this year in August it'll be ten years since the band split. Ten. Years. WTF.
Time flies...

Definately Maybe is 25 years old. When it was released Abbey Road was 25 years old.
