The next Oasis gig was at Dartford Polytechnic on 19 April, which Noel had secured thanks to the connections he was making through working with the Inspirals. To travel there the band hired out a van and Guigsy took his car. The band arrived, followed by about five of their mates. They went to the local pub where someone lit up a spliff. The band were chucked out and made their way to the college.
They had with them a plentiful supply of cocaine, speed and ecstasy. By the time they got on-stage, they were seriously gone. Bonehead played with three cigarettes in his mouth, Noel was E'd up, Guigsy fell off the stage and McCarroll forgot to tighten the nuts on his cymbals so when he first hit them, his drum kit half-collapsed.

Record Machine could have been a modern Oasis classic, but the same thing imo could be said about let there be love, where did it all go wrong?, everybody's on the run, if I had a gun and even maybe born on a different cloud if only better producer or even arranged. Everybody's on the Run turned out just fine; that's a modern Noel classic through and through. Let There Be Love is a nice contrast from other songs like it (Half the World Away, Don't Look Back in Anger) and I like how mellow it is and builds a bit towards the end. I wish that it had been more like an atmospheric U2 track (think Running to Stand Still and The First Time) in the verses, but what we got was just fine. It's very well-British and features a rare Liam/Noel duet that signified good times in the band. Where Did it All Go Wrong? and If I Had a Gun were definitely overproduced. The demo version to the former is superior imo to the album version. The latter was more of a Wonderwall re-hash so it wasn't going to go far but being produced like TDOTL was would've helped a lot. Born on a Different Cloud is alright, but it's way too much of a George Harrison pastiche and feels really boring tbh, which likely had a lot to do with it being produced by the band and the time it was released, especially with Noel being in his awful Beatles, "The only records in my collection are I Am the Walrus and..." phase then.

I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion here so I decided to just put this here in this thread, but Born On A Different Cloud has AWFUL production, liam's voice has some stupid reverb because I think they were trying to make him sound... dreamy? Well it didn't work, sounds like he's singing in the shower. There's barely any melody at all apart from the vocal melody, the song sounds so.. empty at the start, after the 2:50 mark the guitar actually kicks in and makes the song much better. It's a great song my Liam, completely ruined by choices made in the production. I hope Liam plays this song in upcoming gigs, I know the crowd won't probably give a shit, but fuck them, this song is mega and deserves to be played with the current Liam voice, which is cleaner sounding than his 2002 one.

I was sitting in the van and heard a jet sound and I thought, “oh cool, DYKWIM is somehow on the radio.” I was wrong. It was an airplane flying overhead - such a weird feeling, and a sign of how deep my Oasis obsession is, lol.

Looks at his average life and nothing has been alright since Oasis way before Beady Eye and Noel Gallager’s High Flying Birds, because he’s still preoccupied with 1995.
He hates time, make it stop, when did Noel become cosmic pop?

Hahaha brilliant. Oasis, Noel, football, ex-Arsenal player (Merson).....all blended together, love it.

Working on covering the full (What's The Story) Morning Glory? album on piano. Some songs are harder than others, but it's great to practice on those songs.

I decided i needed to remind myself how fucking awesome SOTSOG is so i gave it a listen, skipped Little James because i'm only human. Liam's voice in Go Let It Out does things to me man.

One of my favorite performances of both tunes - especially Whatever.

Liam's recent touring of Some Might Say has truly rekindled my love for this very special song. It's always been a great song but these last couple months I've been really hearing and feeling it like I first did in 1995.
