I just saw it and I'm not certain about it. The nostalgia is one thing, but the rise is one of the most documented eras for any band. They were everywhere and watching it again without detailing the fall and subsequent break-up seems incomplete. It is essentially Lord Don't Slow Me Down without being timely. I don't understand why it was made, particularly now.
Noel wasn't much of a singer early on, but he definitely was a better choice for Sad Song than Liam. Liam sounds mediocre at best on that version. Pretty sure it is meant to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Knebworth. Which makes sense in the context of the film.

Watched it yesterday and found myself checking the time on more than one occasion. I'm completely bored of 90's Oasis and have been since before the doc came out. That said the BHN reissue brought back fond memories of the 90's so I might watch it again when I'm in a better mood but it's a meh from me. 1960's Bob Dylan is another period of music I'm bored of but that's for another thread!!

I really wish it hadn't focused on just those few years. There's so much more to oasis than those 2 years, good bad and ugly. I got accused on here of not 'getting it'. I get the idea of the film 100%, just don't get why and am not fond of just focusing on that. Enjoyed it nevertheless but it's not really much I hadn't seen before. The All Around the World stuff for example wasn't exactly ground breaking

Liam has a fork in a world of soup, this guy has a knife. 75 years old and voted for Brexit- It may sound harsh but compared to that guy I'm young and it did seem to be a lot of older people who to be simplistically brutal voted for outcomes that they aren't going to feel the ramifications of in ten or twenty years. Undemocratic in thought but it's a thought that has been in my head having read or spoken to a number of past 65 people who voted for Brexit. TTIP may have failed in the EU with the negotiations collapse but after the withdrawal odds on it happening here? P.S. if you're 75 mate and programming is "upsetting" your presumably adult daughters I can only imagine the closeting job you did on them as children to the point that they don't know how to use a TV remote control...... EDIT- heavy day with acquisitions, apologies for the rant but I needed that!

You only have about 2 hours time for a cinema movie. Can´t really fit all into that I guess? Even now people complain that there are bits missing (Britpop, Blur, etc). If you want to see it all then you need an anthology but not a cinema movie (not that I would complain to get that one day). Not everyone must like it of course but I can´t see a 2-3 hours movie about Oasis whole career. Too much would be missing.

A lot of the Def Maybe dvd was revisited. Pretty sure 2 hours could have captured a lot more. The 2 hours it focused on in the film could have easily been condensed.

Fuckin in the bushes in the movie... is a pure anachronism.... The swamp song is more appropriate....

Thank you for the reply. On Concerto/Plato website they have a UK import (19 Euro), so I'm gonna order it. No problem! Thanks for the tip. Might do that as well. 19€ for the DVD? That's a bit pricey; I ordered mine from Amazon UK for 14,85€ precisely including shipping.

Watched it in a Cinema in Auckland with about 10 people and the sound just blew my head off! Amazing, and the Knebworth footage was insane. I was there at the front on the Saturday night and realised how much I've missed not having anything solid to be able to reminisce on such an epic moment in my life. But, that was a major bad call to include FITB. I was gutted to hear it, which is strange because I love the track.

I didn't know that, thanks. 1. That makes it a lot more acceptable for me whilst watching, which is great. 2. I want to hear that!! And what else exists on all these "older tapes"?

Of course you could have put more into 2 hours but then you would have to cut stuff out. And yeah we all knew 90% of the stories but it's still done very good. Let's say they would have also put in the BHN era. You would already need a lot of time for the problems after Knebworth, then the recording of BHN itself in 3-4 studios, Mustique, Hype, Touring, all the drugs,.... I already wrote this a few times, there are enough stories for a film itself. And we would probably know most of those stories already too. And that's just until the end of their 3rd album... I would love to get a proper anthology covering it all but for a movie this was the right time span I think.

This film didn't need Be Here Now. It's not about that chapter. It's about the wild ride on the way............up!

I finally watched it yesterday for the first time. It arrived just a week ago to Spain and I didn't had the time to go to the cinema and watch it, but I'm so glad I did instead of downloading it. What an amazing experience, a really intense, funny and raw journey. Liam nailing the vocals to champagne supernova really touched me as if it was the first time I've ever heard the song, really special.
I have nothing interesting to add to what everyone else had said but I'd really wish there was an OST so we could get the full version of sad song (which despite someone said, sounded beautiful). Is there any fanmade/ unofficial OST compilation out there?
