Whoopieee! Nice! I was going to order at bol first, but changed my mind to get it from my local record shop today. Good idea! Will see if my local bookstore has it (they also sell LP's, albums, DVD's..) We don't have record stores anymore. We used to have 3 or 4 but they all went bankrupt a few years ago.

Got the Blu-ray yesterday, watched the first 5 minutes or so last night, I'll watch it all at the weekend.
WTF is that all about digitally removing Alan and Guigs from the Knebworth footage? If they do release Knebworth as a seperate film is it all going to be like that with just the Gallaghers and Bonehead on stage? Looks so fucking daft.

Supersonic ends perfectly. A chapter before the dark times. MTV Unplugged fiasco, MTV Video awards embarrassment and canceled USA tour. Yikes. It's like watching a movie about Nazi-Germany until 1942.

Bought the blu-ray yesterday and watched the film again last night. Brilliant stuff. The extras were pretty disappointing however. Rather than 'deleted scenes' we've been given unused interview segments. They could have given us so much more. Solid 9/10 for the film. 3/10 for the extras

I didn't really notice the lack of Oasis vs Blur when I watched it the first time but you are right. It is the one big thing missing from the film. That was a huge deal and media circus. I guess the filmmakers really just wanted to focus on the inner band dynamics and the brothers. Barely any other bands mentioned outside Spiral Carpets, Verve, Sister Lover, Phil Collins and Sting.

Boyzone The funniest bit of the whole movie to me.

Another thing you begin to realize again.........Noel has serious problems with recording his albums. - Definitely Maybe (3 attempts) - Be Here Now (Failed first mixing) - SOTSOG (band members quit, parts redone) - Heathen Chemistry (Recorded in patches, no Liam vocals for months) - DBTT (Failed with DIV, failed doing it himself, Sardy time) - HFB (bad first recording of drums) - Morning Glory (locals brought from the pub by Liam destroying the studio during the sessions)

Noel knows what he is doing. In 10-15 years it'll come out, hysteria will ensue, and Noel will get rich off it. A failed project turned into a gravy train.

Just watched it. Enjoyed it greatly, although I was a bit disappointed, tbh: 1) Is a reminder that Oasis was not a great live band. I mean, it was great when you were there, but re-watching these videos, one is struck at how poor some of these songs sound live (it never ceases to annoy me to hear Wonderwall constantly played at double speed) 2) I felt like it skipped over too many key moments--Blur-Oasis/Oasis cultural impact in UK/10 Downing St/breaking America/unbreaking America (MTV music awards debacle). Narrative felt a bit rushed and choppy, especially Morning Glory on. 3) The ending was anticlimactic--I'm not sure why, but they made Knebworth feel like just another big gig (which I suppose it was). 4) It has some decent moments of self-reflection, but let's face it, self-reflection is not what Liam and Noel do best--at some point the whole madferit, greatest rock and roll band, take all the drugs we can rapping gets a bit monotonous. Having complained, I can't complain. For me the film is only telling the early chapters in the Oasis book. The rise to the top of the mountain. That magical 3 year run. It's not about all the bad that immediately started happening soon after. It's a celebration to that phase of Oasis' career. Their peak. The glory. The fame.

Also, I'm against an Oasis reunion but whatever....... Having that been said, if it does happen one day down the long road, it's gotta feature the classic lineup. - Liam - Noel - Bonehead - Guigs - Alan Only then will it be a "true" reunion of sorts. No offense to Andy or Gem but they weren't in the band I worshiped in the 90s. They were good soldiers, soldiers for a different time and place. #LiveForever
