As for the songwriting claims from The Real People they have had settlements in the past as you mentioned but have never brought another claim since. This could be because the legal settlement in the past was full and final, meaning no future claims, but saying that if you were the Realies and thought you had more songs you could sue over why would you agree to an early settlement? I wonder if they have overstated the thefts somewhat as they got a settlement and 10% of Rockin' Chair's publishing/writing credits from the unheard "Growlin' Old", when Neil Innes got half of Whatever, which makes me wonder how little he may have really taken from them. As always not a definite fact but worth a thought I think bearing in mind how history between them has played out. I believe that both Chris and Tony were lined up to contribute to Supersonic, but were cut out/not interviewed because of the length. If they were really still upset and/or felt they had been wronged (if they were ever truly upset), I doubt they would have taken part in the documentary or offered to take part. They famously appear in the Definitely Maybe 10 year anniversary film, so even back then they did not show any animosity to the band. I'm not going to say that Noel is a saint in all of this, but clearly a lot of it gets blown out of proportion, especially in today's climate with Liam constantly slagging off Noel on Twitter.

So many times I've heard about this story of the Don't go away rip-off, but I just listened to this...I don't really get it. So ok, he gets a little bit of lyrics in a 5 min song with complete different melody... Is that enough to get songwriting credits? Can you copyright "Don' go away/Say that you'll stay/Forever and a day"? I don't thing it undermines Noel's genius at all.I don't think anyone has suggested that. Just that he's been a bit naughty at times.

Just want to point out that whether you think their claims are overblown or not, The Real People really are a great band and are still making music. Their latest album Monday Morning Breakdown is really good and may be some of the best music of their career.
