I was out for majority of the day yesterday but I'm hoping to catch some Snooker today. There's always something about the World Championships that takes me back to being a boy and watching it at my Grandparents. I have a feeling we're going to have a new champion this year and, if so, it'll most likely be Trump. I'd love to see Ronnie do well again so hopefully we'll have another Ronnie / Trump final this season.

Call me sad or whatever but so far I have seen BBC's coverage of every session except the 2nd part of this afternoon and this evening, I will watch them soon as I don't know the reuslts. Anyway I've been finding it very entertaining. I don't normally like Selby but he has been in two very exciting matches. Incredibly chuffed for McGill, the Smiths walk on is so cool aswell. I really enjoyed Ding/Higgins. I think Murphy has been incredible to watch so far as has Robertson. I can see the semis very well being Murphy/Robertson and Ronnie/Trump which would be very ideal indeed, but Trump still has to overcome Fu thn Ding (Which should be a very interesting match) This championship definitely deserves more exposure this year as there are 5 very top top players who are in for a shout to win it

Anthony McGill is a top lad.
Nice guy and his favourite band? The Smiths.
You can't go wrong with this guy!

How many times is O'Sullivan going to say he has no motivation and is going to quit?

How many times is O'Sullivan going to say he has no motivation and is going to quit? I loved Hendry's reaction to it, just laughing it off, pretty much saying he is talking nonsense and is desperate to beat his record of world championship wins.

So with the quarter-finals coming to an end tonight, it looks it anybody's game for the semis.
Trump destroying Ding was incredible to watch, very entertaining, he was my pick for before the tournament and there is no reason he can't win it playing like that.
Still a long way to go in the Bingham/O'Sullivan match, both playing under par in my opinion yesterday and if the winner plays like that against Trump then they have no chance.
McGill/Murphy comes to an end this afternoon, It could go all the way, will be rooting for McGill simply because it's a great story and the guys just seems so grateful to have made it this far already. However I can see Murphy just making it through.
Robertson/Hawkins is pretty interesting, the mini-sessions have so one-sided to one player (3-1 Robertson, then 4-0 Hawkins) however in today's session both players don't seem to be at the races yet. We will see tonight how it pans out, I'm guessing a 13-11 win for Robertson or 13-12 win for Hawkins.
Sill predicting the better players will progress and we'll see Robertson/Murphy and Trump/O'Sullivan and from there on anyone can win it. It's exciting times ahead for this championship.

Interesting results in the Quarters then. Ronnie and Robertson out! Barry Hawkins really deserved it. Semis tomorrow Shaun Murphy/Barry Hawkins and Judd Trump/Stuart Bingham.
I expect a Trump/Hawkins final and that's what I hope for. I think Murphy will come out all guns blazing but Hawkins making the match go the distance. I see Trump being 2-3 frames ahead for the majority of the match.
Anyone else fancy making a prediction?

I was reluctant to make a prediction but I've been thinking since the start of this tournament that it's been Judd's to win or lose. After the session he's played so far tonight, I reckon he'll make it into the final and will be the winner over Murphy.

I can't see Murphy NOT winning to be honest. He has been sublime in every match - a great way to mark the decades since winning it if he does.

I can't see Murphy NOT winning to be honest. He has been sublime in every match - a great way to mark the decades since winning it if he does. All three who remain are worthy winners. Bingham really stamped out the O'Sullivan flame when everyone felt he was the favourite, Murphy is always consistently good and Judd has been on the wings since he came onto the scene a few years ago. If Judd does win, then I reckon it'll be a close final. Otherwise I think Murphy will have an easy route to a second title.

I'm all catch up on the snooker right now, my times are all screwed thanks to the boxing so I'm just away to watch the first session of the final just now and the second tomorrow morning. What an intense match last night though. I was thinking it was Judd's year since the grand prix, Bingham deserved it very much and his journey/story is great, seems like a really nice guy also. I'm routing for Bingham as for some reason I'm not Murphy's biggest fan but to the man's credit he has been on fire pretty much every match and nearly every session, It's true to say that anything can happen as no one expected Bingham to get past Ronnie and Judd.

A tense final - either one of them will be a worthy winner.
Bingham's story is incredible - a minnow who by all accounts is expected to be at an age when his best years are behind him, yet here he is playing the best snooker of his lifetime. And then there's Murphy - can't underestimate his efforts either, given his career the last ten years has been a rollercoaster from World Champion to middle pack also ran, to oce again becoming possible World Champion.
Great stories from the pair of them.

Great stories from the pair of them. That's true about both their stories and yesterday's play proved they both deserve to be where they are right now, that second session was such a thriller. It's set up to be a cracking final two sessions today with the scores being as close as possible. Absolutely gutted I have to work, so I'm on the replays, psyching myself up for a (hopefully) tense finale .

Ronnie O'Sullivan criticised after turning down 'too cheap' 147 at Welsh Open www.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/35581281I understand that to most of us £10k is a lot of money but the moaning about him only getting a 146 is laughable. He had to pot the same amount of balls ffs.

I get it and don't get it. I'm a huge Ronnie fan, he's lightyears ahead of anyone else to play the game but its good for the fans to make that 147. On the other hand he's right, it is special and should be rewarded so that people go for it.
This roll over thing is bollocks. I'm not saying it has to be £147,000 but more than it is right now.

Shows how great he is that he can't even be bothered with a 147. No player has ever just decided he doesn't even want it! It must be disheartening for his competitors though - that he's so good he can just wilfully throw things away like that. Some players would be over the moon just to score a 147 on the practice tables!

I didn't get to watch the match, but it's sad to see O'Sullivan knocked out of the World Championships. Ding's a great player, though, so I'm sure it's a well deserved victory.

I was lucky to see The Rocket play in the Scottish Open in Glasgow last December. Shame to see him go out, I just wonder whether he has another World Championship in him - he often talks about how much of a slog the 17 days are.
I'm hoping for a Higgins v Ding final though.
