So, what happened there @wadfalkirk? Bizarre result against on paper a reasonable Peterhead team but they aren't much better than mid-table league one. The only team on my coupon to lose too!

Where to start? We win a penalty early on that McHugh missed but then we got a couple of goals soon after and were playing pretty well. Peterhead scored a dubious goal that had both hints of offside and handball, which really seemed to unsettle us and we never looked the same after that. 3-2 down at half time due to some appealing defending, giving McAllister his hat-trik. McHigh missed a sitter from 6 yards out as well. Second half was really poor going forward and we only equalised from a goalkeeping error with 15 minutes to go. McAllister then volleys a shot from 35 yards out which dips over Bowman's head. A goal which deserves to win any match. Lee Miller missed a chance from a yard out to make it 4-4 and from then on, we never looked like scoring again. The penalty was a stupid shove in the back amor Vaulks that allowed McAllister to score his 5th. A few thoughts: Why did Houston change the defence after keeping a clean sheet at the weekend? Peter Grant is the best defender we have (possibly one of the best in the league) and we badly missed him tonight. David McCracken was awful. I don't care if he's our captain; he should be dropped for the foreseeable future. Rory McAllister gave him the runaround all day long and he could barely pass the ball 10 yards without giving it away. As bad as we were, Peterhead were excellent. Not dirty, but physical; moved the ball around very sharply and closed our fullbacks and midfielders down all night long. Rory McAllister is a class act. He's exactly the kind of player I'd want to see playing for Falkirk and I'm sure if he wanted to he could walk into a good number of Premiership teams.

I only saw Peterhead once last season but they've been like that for years. Quite a big, physical team who are direct and sometimes a bit dirty too but it works for them. To be fair to them they do have some players who're technically good and in McAllister one of the best part-time strikers in the country.

Yep, when he left Brechin he had the chance to go full time at a few clubs in Scotland, St. Mirren were definitely one of them, and I think he was linked with some teams down south too. He ended up signing for Peterhead in League Two as I think he still had a year left on his apprenticeship and wanted to finish that. Obviously he's just stayed there as the location and it being part time suits his job. The rumoured £650 a week wages probably help too!

Managed to wangle my way into corporate hospitality for the game today, free bar for 3 hours so I shall be getting royally vaginaed 2-0 to the champions elect is my prediction.

Excellent performance today, with another contender for goal of the season amor Luke Lehay. I haven't seen us dominate a game like that in a long time. John Baird, Mark Kerr and Vill Vaulks in particular all worked incredibly hard. Really hard to choose a man of the match but for me Peter Grant stood out. He won everything that came his way and his distribution was excellent. ManofMisery, what happened today. Was Big Jig responsible for any of the goals?

I didn't make the game today thankfully as i'm on my way to London. Not that i've been made aware of, he did come off injured i think aroud 40 mins. All I can say is I wanted County to get a few more to confirm Lockes resignation. After alot of effort i got myself optimistic for the season but signing Championship players just doesn't cut it, with the exception of Boyd and McDonald. We saw how big the gap is on the two-legged tie between Motherwell & Rangers. Stevie Smith, Lee McCulloch, Dale Carrick (although injured) and Scott Robinson just not good enough. None of these guys set the championship alight in strong teams. Poor recruitment + poor manager = poor start to the season. Go out and get Mixu.

That would cost money though and giving the job to Jig (providing he has the right qualifications) seems more likely to me. On another note we dropped Taylor Morgan today and won, which can't be a coincidence!

A cheap disaster maybe, but a disaster nonetheless, and I don't think Killie fans would be too happy if he was appointed.
