Glorious failure from Aberdeen. Thought it was a fairly even game and on another night Aberdeen would have won. They didn't really create many clear cut chances though the same could be said for Kairat. Still think Rooney should have scored when the drop ball went through to the keeper...

Absolutely gutted, totally dominated the game without really creating anything clear cut bar one or two chances. If Pawlett would actually shoot for once instead of diving at every opportunity that would be nice. End product was woeful. Thought the header at the end was going in. Even more gutting because of how shite their goal was, moment of madness from Hayes trying to dribble out from the corner and got punished with a shitey tap in rebound.
Ah well, no excuses domestically now.

Gutted for Aberdeen. In complete control without creating too many chances. The goal was a huge blow and could have easily prevented. That was a great chance that Hayes (i think) had...cut in from the left about 5 mins from time and hit into side netting. Enjoyed watching Shinnie...hes a great coup for the dons.

That was McGinn, did brilliantly to skip past 2 or 3 players then sclaffed it into the side netting. The goal sucker punched us, out of absolutely nothing and as you say should never have happened in the first place.

I also think it's a disgrace that teams like West Ham treat the competition so poor. A good following going to Romania to watch the development squad as such. How can it be a curse? Would they treat the champions league as such? These players are athletes from the 'most exciting league in the world' and can't handle 2 games in a week! The BPL received £5.13 BILLION from TV rights for 3 years...£85M per year in just TV money for each club if split evenly (unlikely though) and they can't even perform in Europe. Whereas SPL got £15.5M for 3 years...under £500K if it were split evenly. Then you look at Karait tonight with a few Brazilians and Tymoshchuk on at least £50K a week. Sky have destroyed Scottish football.

Very disappointing today. We were barely able to string thee passes together and resorted to pumping high balls up to John Baird, who had one of the worst misses I have ever seen. He was roughly three yards out in the middle of the goal, the ball came across from the left fairly slowly on the ground and he somehow managed to side foot it wide.

The Falkirk team today looked really narrow, four centre mids? I know Houstie isn't the most adventurous of managers but come on. How are McHugh and Baird working together? I think they could make a really good partnership given the right service. In other (unsurprising) news, almost all of our fans hate Taylor Morgan already.

Sibbald, Taiwo, Kerr and Vaulks started in the middle today, all of whom are central players. Last week against the Shire we started David Smith and Blair Alston, both of whom are natural wide players, and we looked infinitely better. I know the standard of opposition is different but why change a team that has just won 5-0? It's early days, but I like the look of McHugh and Baird together (today aside). McHugh's got a good burst of pace and looks like he can link up well with the rest of the team as well. I'm not surprised to hear that about Morgan!

He had a tough job replacing arguably our most important player in Jim Lister but he did it well. He's not the tallest but he's good in the air (at least two of his goals for us were headers) and quite strong.

If Killie go with McCulloch and Mark O'hara in-front of the back four today and McKenzie on the right, Higgenbotham on the left, Slater behind Boydy we have about our best chance.
Drop that fairy Jamie Hammill.
Locke last week left out Rory McKenzie who was our best player in pre-season scoring four for Chris Johnston who may I add only played 45 minutes in pre-season.
I do believe that this squad should be challenging for the top 6 and should be no lower than 8th and no more than say 10 points from the top 6 at worst.

At least 4 teams are dead cert for top 6 - Celtic, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, Hearts. The other two will be up for grabs. To be honest, I haven't the foggiest who would make it - give it a couple of weeks and I think we will know.

I'd swap Dundee and Dundee United there. I reckon United will get top six too, but very confident Dundee will be top six and maybe even top four.
