www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-31094426Noel says the Brits are rigged to the detriment of independent artists. He has a point - only those on mainstream record companies get the nod these days, though he offers his claims no credibility whatsoever when he says: "If Kasabian don't fulfil the criteria for one of the best groups, then what is that saying?" Erm Noel..... It's saying that Kasabian aren't one of the best groups. And that would be correct.

That page you linked just comes up with 'error'. So yeah, that's pretty accurate for the Brits.

I don't listen to any of them apart from Damon Albarn (Paolo Nutini is alright I think) but there's nothing that offends me. But how 'polished' are all these acts. It's just very very very very dull these days. No Jarvis Cocker mooning Michael Jackson, no Chumawumba pouring a bucket of water over John Prescott's head, no Gallagher brothers to make the audience nervous! There's no farcical element to it these days that made it quite anarchic in the past. Says it all when some sensitive souls thought Noel saying 'you think David Bowie would go to this shit?' last year during the awards was a shocking moment. It's just another awards ceremony now - and that's no good thing obviously.

When was the last time something like that happened? Brandon Block calling Ronnie Wood an old bastard about 15 years ago?

Actually it was probably 5 years ago (cannot believe it FIVE years) when Liam chucked the award into the crowd and neglected to mention Noel's input in Morning Glory! Then Peter Kay called him a 'knobhead' and it all kicked off on social media I think. But certainly no act since the 90s have generated the slightest bit of edge to the awards.

So when you aren't nominated=rigged? Cry me a river Noel. I don't think anyone expected Noel to be nominated, least of all himself. He only released two songs in the whole of 2014.
