Same date for Riverman. Maybe US/UK different singles?

Wait, so we're getting DOTL on the 16th and then a week later Riverman? Is TDOTL going to be considered a single? There won't be any songs left on the album to hear by the time it's released/leaks. I thought about this as well. I wouldn't mind listening to DOTL, though, since we already heard a soundcheck version. Don't think it would be a big spoil. I'm considering skipping Riverman and listening to it for the first time when the album comes (probably a couple of weeks later?). Well, I'll do that if I resist to it, obviously.

So then what are the final dates for Revolution Song, Riverman, and Dying of the Light then?

Same, if I listen to DOTL and Riverman before release, I'll have heard nearly half the album! I've made a rule not to listen to more than 3 tunes, and I think I'm going to abstain from the current ones we've got so far until release day. I'm gonna see if I can do it - I love listening to albums in full and being in constant surprise throughout rather than the gradual release of songs.

I remember when I first listened to DBBT when it had just come out. I had only listened to Lyla by then, so the whole album was a great experience. This time I'm a bit worried, because from 14 tracks, I've already listened (kinda) to 6 songs, if you count demos and soundchecks. If Riverman comes out, it'll be half of it. So I'll try to resist, specially considering the album comes out 9 days later (Japan release).

ITHOTM remix I count because, it's a remix, we heard the source material already. So that leaves, sadly, just 6 brand new songs, 7 if counting Leave My Guitar Alone on Japanese edition. ITHOTM Do The Damage BOTMI Lock All The Doors Dying Of The Light Revolution Song Freaky Teeth ITHOTM Remix That's still better than HFB, by which time the album dropped, most of us were only left with 5 truly new songs. I think I'll listen to Revolution Song when it drops, just to get an idea of what we can expect from other old but new songs (DOTL, LATD, FT). But as for Riverman and DOTL, I think I also will try and wait for the album. Might be exciting to see the others members responses first.

Yeah I'm not too sure if I'm gonna to listen to anymore tracks. Already have three and I've made it a point not to spoil them too much before the album. It'll be hard to resist the urge but I'd prefer to listen to the whole batch in context of the album. If Revolution Song comes out I'll give it a listen because we've heard it but for any other brand new tracks I'm going to try and abstain from listening to them.
Of course I can't make any promises haha

So, I think we had more surprises with the first one - not complaining, though. As for Lock All The Doors, I think the final version will be wildly different from the demo from 1993, that's why I didn't count it.

We heard Let The Lord Shine A Light On Me was a b-side to AKA What A Life. Alone On The Rope also dropped before the album. A Simple Game of Genius was included as the fifth song. I can understand Lock All The Doors, I suppose I'm being pessimistic towards that one. If it's not so different, I'll be happy. If it's massively different and practically a new song, I'll be well surprised. Win-win.

Don't want to spoil the vibe here, but if it leaks, it's leaks! I'm willing to listen either way. Sounds wrong, but what's the harm if I'm just going to buy the album anyway? ..

I'm not counting Lock All The Doors, since apparently he only used the chorus. It must be very different.
If a new song leaks I know I will not be able to control myself. I will listen to it.

It was the US amazon that had the Riverman release date right?
So there's a good chance the UK is getting TDOTL as the next single instead.
Yeah more tunes to tide us over during the *month* we wait for the album...

If I'm not mistaken these were the release dates from Amazon.com:
- Revolution Song: Feb 16th, one week before Mighty I's vinyl release - Riverman: Feb 23rd, one week before the album and on the same day of Mighty I vinyl single
and now, the HMV Exclusive of The Dying of the Light on Feb 16th as well...
It's strange. Why is Riverman available before the album? Is it a single? It doesn't look like it is. And why Revolution Song is being released one week before the Mighty I single drops?

I still think Riverman will drop as a preorder bonus here on the 24th

Folks, 10" vinyl: 2 b-sides It also just occurred to me...what's on the flip side, if anything? Probably nothing from the deluxe. If it's like the Oasis reissued vinyl at HMV for DM and MG, it'll be one sided.

I don't think The Dying Of The Light will be as good as previous same kind of songs like Talk Tonight, Wonderwall or If I Had A Gun. That's why Noel won't release it as a single. It will only be a promo vinyl item. Just like Turn Up The sun or Mucky Fingers for Don't Believe The Truth. Noel's already told us that The Mexican was single material. It might be the third or fourth single with, perhaps The Riverman. Or maybe the quality is still there but Noel doesn't want to be known for that kind of sound/song anymore.

OK, so they switched singles, then? Interesting... Maybe the feedback to the first two wasnt all that good, so they decided to go with a safer song?

Folks, 10" vinyl: 2 b-sides We haven't had 2 'proper' b-sides on a vinyl single since TIOBI in 2005 Nothing proper about The Quiet Ones. That tune is so horrible I'd rather not hearing it. IMHO, of course. I wonder what made Noel change his mind about the third single, but he probably choose the more commercial tune...
