Anyone know if it's going to be the old demo just remastered, or a new, revised version? I honestly like it better than BOTMI, even though BOTMI isn't bad.

I think most are under the assumption that it's just remastered in full studio format rather than revised. I may be wrong, but I think every Oasis demo we've heard has never been re-vised.
Will be interesting to hear the final version - there's something in the tune that is lacking for me, and maybe some spiced up production might alter my opinion, but I don't know.... I mean I think it's a decent tune but I can't put my finger on what's wrong with it.

Also, I think the running time for the version we are going to hear is roughly similar to that of the demo.

For some reason, I think if they removed the organ and put in some great horn cues and strings around the hook section, it would sound more epic and melodic. The original is great no doubt though, but some small instrumental additions would give it a more grandiose sound without making it seem overproduced.

Maybe it's the "solve my mystery" part..feels out of place and dissonant with the rest of the song.

It wasn't a B-side as I understand it. It's a leak of a demo. There is a reason it wasn't placed on an album or even as a b-side since SOTSOG. 16 years. I'm not expecting massive changes, but I think it's safe to expect some revision.
Obviously something changed about the song to warrant an official release after all this time. And we know Noel has dozens of more songs that could have filled its spot on the deluxe album/single release. I'm guessing Noel finally completed the song and feels satisfied with it much like Lock All The Doors and Freaky Teeth.

Yeah, I think at least the demos of Just Getting Older, Idler's Dream, One Way Road (judging from the leaked clips) and Carry Us All were pretty much the same as the released versions, partially with minor overdubs.

One would hope so. I find the SOTSOG demo pretty boring, but there's a decent song in there, so I hope Noel has changed it a bit.

Wrong thread but is "If theres a god" ever going to be on a Noel record?? Has there been any updates with it over the past couple of years?

Well It's a Crime was released at the same time and the final version of Let There Be Love end up quite differently... I hope he changed a bit, maybe the lyrics, maybe the instrumental... i'd hate to see the same version, Record Machine was a bit disapointing IMO cos' it barely changed at all from the demo

I'd love to hear a studio version of God Help Us All. Noel should leak them as a treat for all the fans who eagerly await years in-between his albums.

Most certainly hope that it is not just a studio version of the demo, I'd like him to change the arrangement around a bit.

It's a decent song, but also sounds like a song you hear at a funeral parlor/old aged home. It's the keyboard part/organ part that does that.

well, if he says he finished it off, he must have somehow changed/added something... right?

As long as the cringe-worthy opening line: "They took my faith They put it in a headlock..."
is changed, I'll be a happy camper.

I love that song, but it obviously needed work. Glad it's finally released. We should get it anyday now ? what was the gap between heat and damage ?

Well, noel did say during last tour that he finally "finished" revolution song and it had a good chance of being on the next album.
I don't think he would have said finished or completed if it were just going to sound like the demo. I actually there will be major revision in instrumentation, lyrics, and even chord voicings, but still the same structure.

There must've been different versions back in the day too, since he said it was very "gospel" and sounded too much like Blur's Tender. They're hardly terms I'd imagine anyone using for the leaked version.
