He should focus on improving his voice and getting his range back. I think I read that he said he's above getting a vocal coach, but really, if he repaired his voice, to around 2000 range, he wouldn't be scoffed at so much and maybe people would return and give him another chance.
I think a lot of Oasis fans just can't stand his voice any longer. It definitely hurts his image. Like during his Wonderwall performance at the Olympics, I remember being apart of a live chat as it was going on and everyone was slighting his voice. Stop them cigarettes, stop the alcohol the day of or night before a gig. Get a vocal coach. Restore that amazing voice.

As long as it involves singing (and a bit of songwriting) and that preferably sooner again than in five years, I'll be happy.

Step one: Liam should reform new band.
Beady Eye is horrible. I like this band only because of Liam.

I will start off this post to clarify that I love Liam. I prefer Noel's songs and NGHFB to Beady Eye but I still love Liam. When I think of Oasis as an entity, I do actually think of Liam. Anyway.
A solo album would be perfect for Liam. As someone suggested, collaborating with his mates, it would be unbelievable and really boost his image and probably sell a shit load of records. However, there are a few reasons why he won't ever do this:
He has said recently that he can't go on forever 'singing someone else's tunes' when he now sees himself as a writer. This is fair enough, obviously.
I think him doing a solo album will be, in a way, too much like Noel which I don't see him wanting to do. I don't want to go all Freud on everyone, but it will be a bit too easy for people to critique him and to look at Noel's solo stuff compared to his, if he does a 'Liam Gallagher' solo album.
Liam loves being in a band. He also loved Beady Eye (I think, anyway) so it will defeat the purpose of forming and starting a band.
However, I really hope he does do something to this ilk as it would be phenomenal. Liam will be fine. He is doing OK. It does upset me seeing Beady Eye not doing as well as they should do because BE is a good album, they have no new hard-core fans - only the pro-Liam fans who have the Parka's and the haircuts who try to be like him. He is a great guy and I hope whatever he is doing, he finds success because he is Liam Gallagher - the greatest fucking singer of his generation.

Collaborative solo album would be cool, If I could pick a few people I'd say Beck forsure. Also be cool to hear him sing a song with a girl Hope Sandoval from Mazzy Star.. Haha I'm probably only saying that because they both guest sang on Death In Vegas tracks. Would never happen though.

Step one: Liam should reform new band. Eh? I think he meant form not reform unless he's talking oasis , which is noels call cause liam would jump at that ......but I have said since BDI inception its to close to Oasis brand , if there is no reunion with noel , liam I believe and I think bardes meant , is cut cord go solo or just get a band free of any Oasis reminders , I think that's his best shot at this point ,

Liam, at one stage, had the greatest rock 'n' roll voice ever IMO. His vocals were an essential part of "oasis" and one of the main reasons why I fell in love with the band.... He's also a very good songwriter now, in his own right, he's not great with lyrics and has admitted this himself but he's improving all the time but his melodys are great. "Songbird" is a beautiful little song as is "I'm Outta Time" and "The Morning Son"... If I'd written one of those songs I'd be very proud. I think we'll hear a song from him someday that will blow us all away. Well put macca. even noel has acknowledged liam does come up with gems , just not consistently , so I think as long as he keeps writing we will get a classic , but also some clunkers

One is a professional courtesy to fans who are paying to see you on top form. Even without stardom, it's professionalism in the workplace. Most jobs would fire your ass if you come to work with even a hangover. Point 2: It's probably not a bad idea to quit drinking regularly or even completely anyway. You should never do it just because others want you to stop. If you decide to stop, it should be because you personally recognize its negative effects and want a change. Is it possible? Absolutely. People repair or improve their vocals all the time through training. People stop drinking to excess all the time too.

I don't like that whole "it's hard to be faithful when you're famous" excuse.
It's never okay to cheat, whether you're Hank the hobo from around the corner or fucking Bill Gates. Especially when there are children involved.
You're there, you decide for yourself, it's not like anyone forces you to bang someone.

Where i come from there is a difference

Some people just can't stick to a single person their entire life and it's not due to lack of love as many would assume. Too bad polygamy is illegal. Not sure if that's Liam's case though.

Dad left when I was 7. And for as long as I can remember when they were together just for the sake of me, they fought. It often got violent and a lot of that anger and hatred was indirectly focused at me. It was horrible. It's better for parents to leave when they can't stand one another, otherwise, it will likely harm the kids.

At least have the decency to talk about it with your partner and be honest, you know? Anyway, we digress.

I think Liam is a good enough songwriter and writes enough that I think he could put out his own solo album without too much collaboration. I think he just needs someone to write with. Someone who can push his writing. The way that Gem was able to do it in Liam's formative writing stages in Oasis. He could still be singing his own songs. He would just have a second voice in the room.
He collaborates in writing, gets a good producer like a Sitek, and hire some session guys. He could have a really nice solo album.

He should take a break and write some great songs in this period, and then coming back 4 years later with a great album.

What makes you think this is possible? Is it? I wouldn't stop drinking for you and I don't think he will. Point 1: There is a difference from not drinking a day or two before work and quitting drinking period. One is a professional courtesy to fans who are paying to see you on top form. Even without stardom, it's professionalism in the workplace. Most jobs would fire your ass if you come to work with even a hangover. If you decide to stop, it should be because you personally recognize its negative effects and want a change. Is it possible? Absolutely. People repair or improve their vocals all the time through training. People stop drinking to excess all the time too. Point 1: Do you know Liam's drinking habits? Do you know that is voice is shot because he is always drinking before gigs? How do you know he's isn't giving his best and that it is simply a case of being on tour and repeated performances that the quality of his voice fluctuates? A great many people have gone into work hungover and do so more than once. Most people don't get fired unless you have to drive for work or have a position of social responsibility. Point 2: That's an opinion. I personally could do with drinking less but would never want to give it up completely as I enjoy it so much. Many feel the same. Drinking is not necessarily negative. How do you know he is consistently drinking to excess? I'm sure people can improve. I don't know how easy it is to wind the clock back 14 years. I doubt that's possible.
