You people have been blinded by desperation. After a year of Beady Eye you are "jonesing" badly for an antidote to that turdburger. You look to Noel to erase the unpleasant memory of Beady Eye but it's always there, lingering. It's a serious stink that needs a serious single to stem that stench. This is not that single. This is what you send to Robbie Williams as a joke, "Hey fatso, please cover this. Love, Noel." Think it's time to lay aff the glue big man.

I love how some people are completely over analyzing and overdiscussing this song. It's just a catchy song, you either like it or you don't. No meaning, nothing special. Just that The thread is called thoughts on ITHOTM, I hope you didn't expect people to just come in say like or dislike. It's not overanalyzing we are fans - and even completely shite artists put in hours of work for every few seconds of song you hear. So yes it's catchy, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to discuss.
I think what Mean Mrs. Mustard meant is some people here could suck the fun out of a blowjob...or maybe some people here could fuck up a wet dream, I dunno.
Either way, something to do with ejaculation; she seems to be a little kinky.
God bless.

Disco rehash of The Turning Far catchier than The Turning (which I never quite understood the love for) but hope it's one of the weaker, if not the weakest, song on the album.

Shhhhshh. You never said this. I am the only person on the world who actually likes Force of Nature? It was also awesome live.... Don't get me wrong, I like it, but not that much. It would probably be very low on my list if I ever had to judge each and every song in order. Probably bottom 50. I usually skip the track, but I'll occasionally put it on.

Well hell yeah, I hope so too. If this is the weakest song on the album, then we're in for a mega treat come March. If it is the worst song, that's a hell of a statement for Noel to put it as lead single.

The thing about first singles off new albums is that I find this tends to happen:
Yeah that's alright. There'll be better tracks on the album though...
album's released...
OMG these songs are well better than the single can't believe they chose that to be the first single instead of some of these!
few months pass...
actually the single is the best thing on the album and the others are a bit naff.

The song is alright, but the sad part is that Noel is not going to the hall of fame with his solo carrer. He's nothing like Weller, Morrissey, Mccartney. I'm sure he always wished that but, he is just going to be the Oasis songwriter with some little solo albums later. I expected him to be even bigger after the split, always waited for his solo carrer, but it's not going to be spectacular. I think we can all agree on that. That's what bothers kalas for example, i believe. Best days are behind him.

The thing about first singles off new albums is that I find this tends to happen: Yeah that's alright. There'll be better tracks on the album though... I remember - very vividly - what happened when The Death of You and Me was released in summer 2011. Did people like it? Sure. Did anybody dare to call it a classic? Hell no. They reacted exactly like you say - "good song, still hope it's not the best Noel has to offer though". Now, years later, looking back, it's actually one of the best ones although the album is amazing. I'm 100% sure Chasing Yesterday will be great, and that ITHOTM will be remembered a lot more fondly a little bit down the road.

Shhhhshh. You never said this. I am the only person on the world who actually likes Force of Nature? It was also awesome live.... Nope, I rate it highly. Not entirely sure, but it sounds like people can't get past the lyrics on the chorus. Sure, they aren't great, but it's the music that counts no? If I had to create a list of my top 15 post 90s Oasis songs, it'd get on it. Come at me motherfuckers

Well, Oasis themselves can't be placed in line with legendary bands like the Beatles to me, and let's be honest, after Be Here Now they were still big but not legendary. They had the potential to be, but they just didn't continue in the same line.
Noel has written a few all time classics while in Oasis, like Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger, Live Forever etc. And while HFB was a good album, and this new single is alright too, he hasn't written a new Wonderwall yet. And with that I don't mean a song with the same chords, I mean a song that is so universal and that everyone, no matter where you are, can sing along to.
A songwriter like McCartney isn't just remembered for his work in The Beatles. He also released some all time classics during his solo career, like Maybe I'm Amazed, Live and let die, Band on the run etc. Noel hasn't. And I don't know if he has any more Wonderwalls in store for us.

I actually think the verse is worse "I'll make you sing like a bird released. If what you seek is the wiseman's treasure, well it's buried beneath your feet" Have always hated that bit.

I think we all now Noel's best days have gone,I don't expect him to write Morning Glory again,I'm just happy he wrote it once That being said,it's not like we won't have good music from him anymore,HFB was really good and I've got the feeling Chasing Yesterday will be too,it doesn't make any sense to listen to his solo songs and think "yeah this is alright but it's not Live Forever innit?",just enjoy the fucking music

Noel did say it was a throwaway track on the radio. Though it doesn't have to be the weakest tune for me, I think it's very catchy - if it is, then we are in for a treat.
