then don't post in this thread. fucking hell... You didn't like him, that's fine. Respect him and the ones who did like him and keep your comments to yourself. some folks here made excellent posts about depression, maybe you should read that. nothing wrong with a few divergent views. yes, of course. but a string of posts against people who are depressed and commit suicide is offensive and trollish behaviour. check the playpen.

I will try very hard not to blame Ann Murray/Canada for Robin Williams' death:

I come back and it's been derailed in the most disgusting manner ever. I've seen this forum go low, but never ever seen it stoop so low as this. Fucking hell kalas, what are you even playing at?

I'd humbly like to apologize for my outburst, just sick of people thinking they>me. Try living a day in my shoes and then you'll understand. But I have one last thing to say if you think you can't get PTSD from a crime: You can and I am proof. What Robin went through, fucking hell what has generated the fucking ridicolus comments? Is this forum mocking the dead all of a sudden? Sure I mocked the dead but learned a lesson, surely people who can't learn are th same people who laugh at a funeral.
Rant over, I'm going to bed.

One of the most irritating things I've ever heard is when people say suicide is selfishness. This is just the sort of lack of understanding we have towards depression. I see it from both sides. To kill yourself you have to be hurting immensely and no one knows what you are thinking about before you do it. My sister planned it. She went out, applied for a gun license, went back a few days later and bought a gun. She could've done it anywhere but decided to do it parked in her car outside my aunts house who she was living with. Thankfully my aunt didn't discover her but everyday my aunt leaves her house she walks past that parking spot. Every time I visit my aunt I have to walk past the spot to go inside. I don't think she ever thought of that. I don't think she realized the toll it has had on her son or the rest of the family. For the rest of their lives Robin Williams kids will be haunted by the feeling they should've done more or they could've prevented it. He didn't choose depression but he did choose to kill himself. He ended his pain but he left an enormous amount of pain behind. I can understand why people would feel that's selfish. I totally understand and respect your view, I'm also very sorry for your loss. I had a friend six years ago who took his life, but never a family member so that must be immensely tough. My view still holds - I try not to blame those who took their life. In my opinion, it's a mental illness and all forms of mental illness seems to throw all rationality out the window - in some cases their self worth is so low sometimes they genuinely believe they are doing themselves a favour to humanity.

I agree on that as well. It fucking disgusts me, what some of you have posted in this thread. No need to be disrespectful.
If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all. Have some respect for the dead, and for the other people who have struggled/are still battling with depression, or don't post anything at all, 'cause you're certainly not doing anyone any favours by posting the things you posted in this thread.

If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all. what a stupid thing to say, of course negative viewpoints should be expressed.

We're talking about someone who died here. I didn't mean in general. I thought that was obvious, sorry.

He was hit and miss with me, loved some of his stuff, some other things I just did not get.
Depression really is a horrible thing. RIP Robin.

The report of Parkinsons kind of ties it together. Depression is a disease in itself, but Parkinsons along with it may have been the straw that may have broken the camel's back. Robin Williams was obviously very strong to fight through depression, drug abuse, and alcohol abuse for as long as he did. But Parkinsons was not something he could fight and "win."
There was probably no comedian or actor who depended more on body control. Parkinsons probably would have been the end of the picture we have of what a Robin Williams performance is/was. Yes, he was always spastic, but it takes amazing body control to be that spastic. His comedy literally depended on his body.
I also think Robin Williams seeing his good friend Chris Reeve in a wheelchair for the rest of his life may have affected him. He loved and respected Chris Reeve, but I don't think he wanted to be him. He didn't want to be the guy who had lost control of his body still clinging to what he used to be (No offense to someone like Michael J Fox or anyone else who may know someone who had it), while still hoping to get a reprieve from some miracle cure. I think he wanted to go out on his own terms while he still remained somewhat like how he thought of himself in his full capacities (obviously a lot of this conjecture by me). I think Robin Williams had seen that movie with Chris Reeves before and he didn't like the ending. So he made his own.

Slightly OT, but doesn't Muhammad Ali have Parkinson's?

Just finished watching Dead Poets Society again. First time viewing it in a long long time. Still brilliant but a tough watch now following Robin's passing and the subject matter towards the end of the film. I recommend it to all those that still haven't seen it.

Affleck and Damon are so excited for him. I think it's funny people still don't believe they wrote the movie.

Anyone who takes his own life ,,,,is a loser not a tortured soul. A loser In this Wednesday morning, I feel my heartbeats are going faster and faster when I read this post of yours, kalas. I'm mad with your reaction because I've been in the same situation as sternumman in past. You're probably the oldest one on this forum next to webby, so behave yourself towards young kids on here, but also in general. Some of your posts will be moved to somewhere else on this board, but don't get mad at me because you know why they're moved. I never get mad
