Just like me, I know that you all like to come up with imaginary setlists. But let's pretend for a second that Oasis (presumably back together for the sake of this thread) decide they want to ditch whatever impression people had of them as a live band and crush any expectations. What set would you want to hear?
Full gig and radio sets are welcome. Remember, this is just a thread to share those wild setlist ideas you've always entertained...wouldn't it be great if Liam sang___ or Noel got the stool out and played___
Here's mine. Kind of imagined Oasis doing a Crazy Horse inspired set of long and heavy tunes.
All Around the World (what an opener!) To Be Where There's Life Gas Panic Cigarettes & Alcohol (w/ tomorrow never knows, whole lotta love) The Meaning of Soul Slide Away Shout It Out Loud Headshrinker Some Might Say The Turning Keep the Dream Alive Champagne Supernova (epic '98 style) I Am the Walrus
Imagine that, all songs 6-8 mins long would make quite a set. I'd love to hear this.

All around the world as an opener? erhm...no they have at least dozen songs that would do the job better.

To be honest the idea of an Oasis gig where every song is six or seven minutes long sounds like a nightmare. The Be Here Now tour was a bit like that - six-and-a-half minutes of Fade In-Out is too much for me!
Still, it's great fun coming up with the setlists and tracklists we'd like to see.
I'm currently obsessed with coming up with an alternative Be Here Now with different tracks - and many of the longer ones edited down - that might just have lived up to the hype.
Personally, I feel Oasis are at their best when they're delivering catchy pop-rock tunes that don't outstay their welcome.

Me I can't do a set list Perse. But I want DYKWIM as opener .....champagne supernova to close ......then these 3 in succession. Live forever ( to get the passion going ) cigarettes and alcohol ( to go mad ) slide away ( the sing song ) in that order

At the 2020 Brits or VMAs or something,
The lights go down... Nobody knows what to expect. An acoustic guitar begins to play. The audience are in stunned silence. "Weeeeell". A spotlight comes down on Noel Gallagher stood centre stage with his Gibson J200. The crowd go crazy. "What's the Story Morning Glory, weeeeeell". A distorted electric guitar shrieks into life. Another spotlight falls down on Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, stood to Noel's left.
"Need a little time to wake up, wake up". An open E string from Guigsy, who smiles merrily as his spotlight falls down on him. The crowd go fucking mental, and many know what to expect. Alan White hits the opening beat and is hidden behind his drumkit as his spotlight falls down. Acquiesce is under way.
Everybody is waiting on one man, but he's missed his que. Noel and Bonehead exchange a worried glance. What the fuck is going on?
"And there are many places I would like to go" Liam rushes to the mic, tambourine in hand. The crowd go absolutely bananas, the Gallagher brothers are back. Noel and little brother stand side by side and Liam is sounding better than ever "and there are many people that I wish to know, but everything's dependin' on the way the wind may BLOOOOWWWW."
Noel takes to the mic. "Because we neeeeeeeed each other, we believe in one another". He's looking directly at Liam as he finishes the chorus. "We're sleeping in our soooooul". Bonehead's in tears. Guigsy's improvising a slick bass solo. Alan's playing the fuck out of his drums. Oasis are back.
This would be followed by:
Rock N Roll Star Some Might Say Cigarettes & Alcohol Supersonic Don't Look Back In Anger (maybe with Liam on backing vocals?) Wonderwall Champagne Supernova
And then finally:
D'You Know What I Mean?( to the crowds delight)
They're saving Live Forever for the Knebworth shows.

Opening with airplane sounds around the arena and starting with DYKWIM would be pretty amazing

I honestly couldn't give you a full list even if I tried! But this is the kind of layout I'd go for:
Opening half: Started with DYKWIM, followed by Live Forever and a couple of other classics.
Midway through the set: Noel on his own sits down with his acoustic guitar, plays Slide Away and others which are great acoustic (Don't Go Away, Talk Tonight etc.)
Second half: Liam and the gang come back on, kick it off with a bang with either Bring it on Down or Cigarettes and Alcohol to get the crowd mental. Then obviously play some more brilliant tunes.
Finale: Has to be a 8-10 minute long bash of Champagne Supernova!

Can you imagine Liam's face if that happened kalas?

I'd actually love them to play a lot of their Be Here Now material, like Magic Pie and Girl in the Dirty Shirt.

I'd actually love them to play a lot of their Be Here Now material, like Magic Pie and Girl in the Dirty Shirt. Lennon2217 and I both agree the BHN tour was there best , they were tight Nd ther setlist was perfect balance of all 3 lps ..... The last tour and DBTT. I was so psyched up , for some suprises I thought maybe.some BHN. But Noel just seems to want to dismiss as his coke phase I know they have played some of it since , but it's almost like Noel wants to erase it , I rarely take sides in the brothers quarrels and usually see Noel's point because he is more analytical ,,,,but Liam has loved that lp since day 1 , it's my fav , I agree with u !

Yeh it's almost as if Noel is embarrassed by the whole Be Here Now era. He's even said himself he can't listen to the whole of Be Here Now through in it's entirety, as he says its too long. But I think you're right the BHN tour seems the best setlist, that and the Heathen Chemistry Tour were pretty awesome setlists!

Seen as it's purely in the interest of speculation and fantasy, here's mine.
Intro - Fuckin' In The Bushes
1. D'You Know What I Mean 2. Acquiesce 3. The Hindu Times 4. Hung In A Bad Place 5. I Hope, I Think, I Know 6. The Fame 7. Some Might Say 8. Go Let It Out 9. I'm Outta Time 10. Stop Crying Your Heart Out
ACOUSTIC BREAK 11. Rockin' Chair (I think this would work, Liam singing, Andy on keys, Gem & Noel on guitars) 12. Don't Go Away (Noel solo) 13. Where Did It All Go Wrong (Jools Holland version) 14. Idler's Dream (Noel playing on guitar, Gem or Andy on keys)
RESUME 15. The Masterplan 16. A Quick Peep/(Probably) All In The Mind (A Quick Peep as an intro of sorts) 17. Hey Now! 18. Turn Up The Sun 19. Lyla
ENCORE - Can You See It Now? playing during the break
20. It's Gettin' Better (Man!) 21. Cigarettes & Alcohol 22. Champagne Supernova 23. Fade Away
I say fuck Wonderwall, fuck DLBIA, fuck Shakermaker, fuck Live Forever, Roll With It and all the other "safe bet" songs. I want to see something different. I've only include a couple of songs which are absolutely unmissable and I even struggled to include one or two of them. I've included some of the other songs that I think would be great live as well as one or two that have never been played live, just cos I think they'd be mega. I've only got Noel singing 5 songs cos he's not the singer (and two of those are acoustic).
EDIT: I think this is a set list that would "ditch whatever impression people had of them as a live band and crush any expectations".

I'll even throw in The Cage as the exit music over the PA. THAT is my ideal set list
