Sorry but do you think if he was doing something he shouldn't of he would of kept doing it so publicly? He might of been naive to think people should just accept the sleepovers etc but it doesn't prove he did anything wrong, what about the childrens parents? they seemed ok with it! Funny they were quite happy to let MJ spend lots of cash on them at the time. Out of interest and lest we think that selling a few albums absolves you from having to take responsibility. How would you feel UniversalGleam if your young children were having a sleepover at a 40 year old mans house? And the man I'm referring to isn't famous and hasn't sold a load of records. of course I wouldnt of allowed it! thats my point! the parents did allow it! Lets be frank, the parents allowed them to stay there if they were suspicious of him why take the risk of putting their children in danger? of course it would be different if he wasnt famous because these parents thought "well if let the kids stay there think of all the benefits we could get, money, fame, extravagant goods" its not like mj walked into their house and snatched the kids the parents were VERY happy to let them stay. Letting the kids stay was wrong no doubt, he shouldnt of done it but the parents shouldnt of allowed neither. I know He should've realised it was wrong to do something like that. Your making it sound like Im defending a guilty man though, he was proved innocent so im prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt because its wrong to still accuse someone when they were proved innocent (again the one who accused him said he lied), the fact is hes dead he paid the ultimate price, 3 children are left without a (I quote) "loving and attentive father" let him rest. I think its disgusting that this thread was made to discuss the MUSIC and people are saying "MJ was a freak fuck him blah blah" funny no one brings up John lennons women beating, people are putting the music down because of what went on outside the music, I suppose you hate oasis because Liam has cheated on his wives and fathered x amount of children? I suppose thats this forum all over, focus on the negatives and discard the positives. |

Take away the massive ago, the bizarre personal life, the burnt business associates, the troubled offspring, the 1980s nostalgia, the dancing, and the music video hype, and concentrate just on Jackson's music. All you're left with are a handful of extremely dull and dated albums. The succesful early ones managed to ride the wave of late 1970s/early 1980s dance boom but (apart from some fine production from the producer) there's not much value or artistry to the songs or the singer. He's lucky he managed to get hold of the Beatles songs (how did that knife in the back feel to McCartney - who had tried to help him?) because his own back catalogue has little of substance. |

If MJ had one thing its that his music sounds timeless, still sounds new till today What does him buying the beatles song have anything whatsoever to do with this? MJ was the best single artist of all time, he used to dance, sing and was a songwriter too. The Beatles changed everything, their music still stands really strong today, the music world is divided in what came before and after The Beatles. And Elvis, well.., he was a great performer, just it. I would agree and say MJ was a great singles songwriter, but not a great overall songwriter. His most successful albums were only half written by him and the more writing he did take on for his albums, the lower the quality of the albums became. Not only that, but he had genius of Quincy Jones to depend on 9probably the greatest producer of all-time). Once he began to self produce and hand the producing reigns on to someone else, the quality of his albums dropped. For me what separates the Beatles from everyone else is the fact they were self sustaining. They could not only sing, write, and play their own instruments, they could also be their own producers of ideas and the expand their own ideas. George Martin speaks about how as the Beatles when on they needed his input less and less. He wasn't so much a producer anymore toward the end. By the end the Beatles for the most part were self producing. Elvis and Michael Jackson could never be self sustaining. It's why the Beatles produced at the height they did. The less people to depend on, the less reliance on everyone doing their job to make you better. |

^finally an intelligent post  But I think MJ was a great songwriter, he wrote a lot of good songs on all of his albums..probably the best songs he released. I guess he went through something similar to Oasis..his first album was amazing, his second was his best, then it was all a slow decline (even though Bad was a great album and BHN is considered as one of Oasis' worst) |

Especially since neither of you actually gave the full story on the allegations and then spoke about it like you know thing we have missed. And his music? He has some killer singles created in conjunction with an amazing producer but that's it for me. If some asked me to name the top songwriters of all time I don't think I'd even think about mentioning him. |
