If he gets vocal cords surgery, Oasis might get back together.

Some people cannot understand that the real problem with an Oasis comeback is not Liam's vocals but the quality of Noel's tunes.
Oasis failed cause Noel couldnt release a quality Oasis album like he used to in the early years. Too many mistakes, too many wrong choices, too many fillers. On the other hand their tours were always a success not matter if Liam was on form or not. An oasis reunion will also be a success in term of gigs no matter if Liam can or cannot sing.
But can Noel write a good album to prove that Oasis still matters? Can Noel make the right choices and put the right LAG songs in that album? LAG with Beady Eye proved they can contribute now with quality tunes. Its up to Noel i m afraid.
If someone s blowing the chance of an oasis reunion, is Noel and not Liam. At the moment Noel is afraid of an Oasis comeback and not Liam.

Noel is not afraid of the reunion, but I think he really doesn't need it. he can play his tunes, he can do what he want, which was maybe difficult if you are in a band with Liam Gallagher, that started becoming a really good songwriter over the years and has a big ego. and Noel has big success outside of Oasis. I'm more into Beady Eye but i really have to say, that Noel doesn't need Liam. and I say this also, cause I love Beady Eye and the direction they went, and hope that we will get more albums by Beady Eye, which a Oasis reunion would maybe destroy

I wouldn't even like to see a full-on reunion. I think the best thing would be to come back and do the "lap of honour" that Liam spoke about. He just needs to get his head together first. They should come back for a year, do a world tour, and wrap with up with a weekend at knebworth, where all members of the band play "yeah, including McCarroll, Guigsy, etc.), and just finish it with one last top-of-the-world bow out. It's be extremely special. We get the best of both worlds then. Incredible addition to the Oasis legacy, we all get to hear those songs live again one last time (for the first time for some people- me!), and we'll still get records from both sides.
Then again, that'd be an ideal world.

He is as happy as ever doing his own thing, on his own schedule. I'm enjoying fully written Noel Gallagher albums. I never wanted LAG writing so many tunes on each release. It lowered the quality in my opinion. Of course an Oasis tour would do well, they've been selling out stadiums/arena throughout Europe and the UK since 1995. However, Noel said that it was basically just a greatest hits tour and they'd become only a modern day touring Rolling Stones. He didn't feel inspired anymore. I basically saw the same tour over and over and over between 2000 and 2008. I like what I'm getting from both Noel and Beady Eye at the moment.

I basically saw the same tour over and over and over between 2000 and 2008. I like what I'm getting from both Noel and Beady Eye at the moment. This. Well said Lennon. My good friends, I agree with your point (quite). I m a huge Oasis fan from 1993 and i still love every oasis album and song (almost). I love Noel's songwriting and its ok for me to go solo if thats what he wants(even if i dont enjoy it as much as in oasis). I dont want an oasis reunion if they are gonna play only the hits. I want a new oasis album with probably 2-3 LAG tunes but only if they are good enough (they had some top moments with beady eye dont you think?).ANYWAY. I dont think that your answer in my post has anything to do with my post and the whole subject. The title of the thread is an hypothetical question: "is liam blowing the chance of an oasis reunion? ("awful" vocals, personal problems, "BE" failure etc)" and my post, my opinion is very clear about it.Thats what i believe. (Hypotheticaly, Liam could sing great on record and even if his voice is gonna be awful the oasis gigs are gonna sell. The preasure is on Noel to write a great oasis album. You know an Oasis reunion with a new album should be something special and not a matter of 3 out of 5 stars. An album to inspire new fans under the oasis logo and give meaning to that reunion.) The question of that thread i s not "does noel want an oasis reunion, is Noel happy going solo or what do we want from an oasis reunion". Your post answers these things and not my post.Dont you think?

There's no pressure on Noel to write an Oasis album and I'm sure it's the last thing on his mind.
He quit Oasis. He's been rather successful since then.

Some people seriously need to move on from Oasis. It isn't happening and I'm not sure I'd want it to happen anyway

As much as I'd love a set of gigs, like a thank you & goodnye tour, I'd love some kind of epic release in the vein on the DM dvd with loads and loads of unseen footage & recordings!

Why people want Oasis to get back together is beyond me. The band had become a parody of itself by the end anyway.
Who wants to see Cigarettes and Alcohol being performed by a bunch of 50 year olds?
