Yep. As Tywin put it, "Your brother was not a wise king, your brother was not a good king." What's great about this particular scene is that although Tywin's being completely honest, his intentions are malign. He wants Tommen in his control. Good point. I also feel that Jon Snow is also the most noble man going in that world. He possesses a lot of Ned's honor and courage. A true protector of the realm. I hope he ends up on the Iron Throne in the end, he's the only one deserving of it.

I haven't read the books but I do not believe he will end up the actual son of Ned Stark. That's all I'm gonna say.

Kit Harrington - "I think it's as big as 'Thrones' has gone at the moment. I mean, I think it's no secret that it's the most expensive episode that they've ever made and a lot of that is due to the CGI," Kit told AccessHollywood.com , referencing Wildling giants, whose feet appear in the episode sneak peek. "I haven't seen any of that yet, obviously, so that's going to be a new thing for me, but yeah, it's pretty huge in scale. I think it's as big as TV goes, and that was incredible to be one of the leading actors in that episode. … I feel hugely privileged." tv.yahoo.com/news/kit-harington-game-thrones-battle-wall-big-tv-000637698.html

As you can guess spoilers for the past episode.
Watchers on The Wall was not as epic as Blackwater, because it lacked a major turning point, for example the Wildfire explosion, but it was really good nonetheless. It did have several smaller, epic events throughout, such as the Giant shooting that bow, or the Scythe defense.
Where it did improve on Blackwater was with the fight scenes. Much better choreography and much more going on at once that you can actually see clearly.
There was one point with really beautiful camera work where it was just one continuous panning shot covering all points of the battle beneath the wall. That was fantastic.
And what I liked most about it, it didn't end. We will get more either next episode or at the start of season 5. This makes it feel more like a serious, high stake battle than something that begins and ends in the same episode.

Book readers are beyond pumped for episode 10. All previous episode nines were the big ones (and the tenth being dénouments), but from what I've heard, the next episode (season finale) is going to be huge. Not in terms of action, but plot. I know for one that there is going to be a HUGE game changer that will dramatically affect the rest of the story. (It's best not to spoil it for the non-book readers.)

Yeah, next episode will be great. Actually come to think of it, the writers have saved several major turning points for episode 10(if they're all in episode 10 that is). It will be interesting how they edit the events into the episodes timeline.

Great episode. Loved all the action and I've always been a Jon Snow kind of guy. Very noble and a very violent, cruel world. Sad to see Rose Leslie go. Major Game of Thrones babe.

I hav mixed feelings about Igrite. Were we still supposed to cheer for her and hope she got together with J Snow after she was killing all those people in this and previous episodes.

That's the thing, though. There is not much black and white in ASOIAF/GOT. Each character has their complexities, which is why this series is so beloved. Look at Ned Stark. He's the closest thing the series ever really had to a main good guy protagonist. He has this big thing about honor and family, yet he has a bastard son, Jon Snow. He also commits high treason by attempting to take the throne (even if the king at that point was a little shit, it's still high treason).

Ive never read the books so I'm just speculating but I have a feeling Jon is not Neds bastard. I think the reveal of his parentage is going to be a massive deal. No way would they have made it so clear in season 1 that no one, not even Robert who was on campaign with him, had ever met this alleged lover of Ned's and it not turn out that his parentage is a secret for a reason. It'd be disappointing if it really were as simple as Ned having a wartime fling with a random woman, noble or lowborn. As far as I have heard even the books haven't revealed who his mother is at this point. That's a long time to drag on an anticlimactic bit of informatjon

No LS. I'm betting they scrapped the idea entirely. Some people think it would be too weird even for GOT.
Otherwise, how'd you all feel about the finale? It felt a little rushed. Tyrion's great scenes were not given enough time.
Really liked Stannis's arrival and Jon's talks with Mance.
The whole thing with Bran was sort of odd and what happened with Jojen seemed misplaced.
Dany got a little interesting with what she did in the catacombs.
Brienne and the Hound were the surprising highlights of the episode. What a great fight. And it wasn't even in the books!
Arya finally going to Bravos, thankful for that. But she's so cold now, like a little psychopath.

Too big of a plot point I'm told.
