Inspired by kalas's thread where the oldies have come back on the scene, what then constitutes a forum veteran? I would presume a regular contributor, but how long before you are one of those 'oldies'? Great to see oldies back on the forum, keeping the spirit alive.
But importantly, lately there has been a raft of brilliant new contributors in the last several months. It's great to see the place thriving - big congratulations to everyone and all the fantastic contributors and fantastic moderators.
Now its time for me to leave this forum for good........ joke!

I've been here since 2004, so I saw many people are coming and going. In the past 9 years, things changed, people changed and this forum changed too. I've been invited to join several another Oasis forums, but I don't need an another place to go.
I "met" (not in a person) some great, great people on this forum and built up a fantastic friendship with them.
We all used to be a "newbie".
It will be wonderful if all the members contribute to this place, no matter what kind of a form they do - uploading a bootleg, posting a information for a gig, TV, magazines, swapping a concert ticket, helping to solve a tech. problem, exchanging the musical opinons.

I've been on many forums, but trolls keep many forums from going on past 6 months I found.

Forums themselves basically killed off by facebook. Yes, facebook.. The site makes money off of your information and thoughts. I've seen oasis forums were and I had my Nirvana forum for years. Pretty much all of them are gone. This forum is pretty special for having newer members and older members from the past re-appearing this point of social media. For the older members re-appearing, it's not we're being disrespectful from members joined after we left or disappeared, but it's the reconnection and looking towards the familiar first. Every human does that in unfamiliar setting. I do think newer members like cata, waitingforsally and others getting involved and welcoming older members and involved with post does help bridge everyone together. I have been mainly off the forum in last 5 years until last 3 months. My life was hectic, because I had jobs I was working lots of days or hours or both. Sometimes, I was working 85 to 86 hours a week or working solid 6 days a week with one day off for 3 years. That made my life hard and my girl always wanted time together on my only day off. Add burnt out and busy with family and friends too. I have seen this forum real early stages and I almost been here 10 years. I do give kalas credit for keeping me around or sparked interest here again.

I pm all my old contacts here hoping like britishlove one day they will check there inbox and see my message and just hoping maybe they like Brit will return as Matt said the forum is getting good man ! I personally think it's great that "the oldies" are coming back. I joined the forum in 2009/2010, so I missed out on all these great things everyone speaks about haha. But, it's a win-win situation for everyone really; the forum's got a big boost from a lot of the oldies coming back, and many new posters can "learn the ropes" by speaking with the older posters. We've got a really great mix of people nowadays, and the forum's the best it's been in years, in my opinion. Ginger good to see you ! All well? You know what to do if you want I'm just in and out all day but leave it and if I'm not there ill get back quick geez

Don't think it really matters Matt sorta like sports first year your a rookie by year 3 or 4 your considered a vet take me and Brit. We started around the same time me 05 now to me anybody after 06 is new cause I seen them come ...just like I'm new to rain or Mimi or mar. Who were here before me. We all are vets ... Lennon is a vet just to me he's a new vet ya know? Just like Brit and I are vets but to rain or mar we are vets but to them new vets ? Make sense .? To me once you post real good and stick around like say Lennon. , or lib, or jit your a vet just in prime as opposed to being a old bastard like me or my elders here Lib is here longer than me I believe. And I am not omitting any vets before me I am just mentioning ones off of top of my head other members that would consider me a newbie Would of course be the great choc starfish ..,shadoboxer , day sleeper mape , Eva , you all know who you are and anyone I left out it was not intentional just to many to name.

Always here to help!! I have 150 Oasis bootlegs, and I like to share...back in college I was on here all the time, life got in the way, but I've found my way back. I just want to make sure there's a new generation of people who like good music...too much garbage out there. Keep the dream alive!!

I (like many other users), joined after "spying" the forum on a regular basis for some time. I read some interesting threads many times in the past, but however i never quite understood the things you get when this becomes more "familiar".
Can anyone summarize a brief story of this forum, and how did it evolve through the years?
Regarding the facebook issue. There is a big oasis group in argentina "Oasis en argentina" (2k members, but only a few few are active, and are hardy ever the same), but you see, it's a lot of people coming and going and no big talk. Just sharing stuff and pressing like or commenting something briefly by the way. In this regard, facebook can't replace forums. Actually that's why i joined.
I just noticed, according to the statistics this forum had the most users online in october 6, 2011,(prior the NGHFB's album)

I just noticed, according to the statistics this forum had the most users online in october 6, 2011,(prior the NGHFB's album) Live4ever was and still is arguably one of the most popular Oasis sites with hard core Oasis fans. When the band was still going this forum's stats would outperform the official forum on many days, especially in anticipation of album leaks. During those days we had around 100'000 page views daily on here. Over 20 million unique visitors have visited the Oasis Newsroom and its forum over the past 10 years. Most users online was a stat that was not recorded in the early days of this forum, so previous Oasis album release dates saw larger numbers of record visitors than the October 6th date.

There might have been a few years where I didn't watch but I still knew the all the backstories and within a week was up to speed ! During the old days when albums leaks I don't think this placed ever crashed. I remembered near almost all other forums/sites actually crashed, because the servers were overloaded by users.

I'm going to throw a fuck off party in April 2015 to celebrate a decade of being on here. 10 Years of Noize and Confusion, that's for damn sure....
Also, it's impossible catching up on here when you've missed 3 months, and life is coming at you hard, but I'm still around, you lucky fuckers. Innit.
