Wow, thanks for posting this Matt! Been a fan of the character since hearing the radio version of Knowing Me, Knowing You many years ago and am really looking forward to this. Mid Morning Matters and I, Partridge were both fantastic and I also enjoyed Places of My Life hugely too.

Must be the most quotable guy ever! Still waiting for that TV series that he pitched, Monkey Tennis.
I agree davidjay, can't wait for this as everything with Alan Partridge has been comedy gold. Armando Ianucci is also back as the scriptwriter, and his work is also comedy gold (The Thick of It).

YES this is incredible news!
I wish they'd release Series 2 in north america. It took forever for #1 to come out and then 2 never appeared since!
Definitely the most quotable man ever.

Can't wait for this! Alan Partridge is amazing. The trailer, though, is poor....Should be a good movie, though.

this is a great quote......
Alan: These people may all look like retired pirates, but in actual fact, they're former Lord Mayors of Norwich. Now, despite the Norfolk black-lack, we're a pretty progressive bunch around here. Take our current Lord Mayor for example. It may surprise you to learn that he is a woman. We've always believed in giving women a fair crack at the whip. Not literally. That would be a dominatrix, which we also have in Norwich. They are currently three of them. Yeah, about three.'

I fucking love Alan Partridge. I hope the movie isn't the last we've see of this utterly brilliant character.

Reviews are in of the movie, and it's getting really good review from the British press! Pretty much four star reviews everywhere which is great. Always worried that transitions to the big screen would be a big failure, but looks like Armando Iannucci, Coogan and co have pulled it off.
Can't wait! This is LIQUID cinema!!!

The film looks great and it was fantastic to see Steve Coogan appear in character as Alan for the Anglia Square premiere... www.guardian.co.uk/film/gallery/2013/jul/24/alan-partridge-alpha-papa-norwich-world-premiereSteve Coogan on Radio 4's Front Row. Really good interview: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006qsq5Posted live from Norwich (no, really!).

It sounds really good, Coogan was on Radio 2 this morning with Chris Evans, very funny!!
They played the interview where Scotland Yard are finding out if Alan is upto the job of calming down the hostage situation that he himself had a major hand in starting.
The gist is that Radio Norwich is taken over by someone like Rupert Murdoch and some DJ's have to lose their jobs, Alan being Alan and a selfish buggar somehow works it that another DJ gets fired and not him, this guy then goes apeshit and starts running amoc with a Gun (he doesn't know that Alan played a major role in his sacking, that's firing to the Yanks) haha. Alan is then deployed as chief negotiator to calm the situation down.
Scotland Yard : Are you on any medication? Alan Partridge : Well I use Cream, I have a very aggressive case of Athletes Foot, but it's the only thing agressive about me

Has anyone been to see this yet? Was lucky enough to see it on Wednesday at Cinema City in Norwich and I absolutely loved it. Well up there with the book and recent TV specials, to say the least! Was funny seeing Norwich up on the big screen too, hehe. Extra marks for dramatic use of Cromer pier heh. Alan on Cinema City's 35th anniversary...
