I don't think that Kate, Steve or Ted are H or at least I hope not. And, Ryan is a horrible little git and he must know that Kate is on to him, she needs to be careful.

Anyway, that new drama on Channel 5 Intruder is good but I think that it will get better as the week goes on.

I can't wait for Sunday's episode of Line Of Duty and from what I've read about it it's going to be a good one. Poor Steve needs to sort himself out and get help with his back pain and addiction to pain killers.

I'm watching the Serpent and I'm incredibly annoyed by the fact that the Dutch lead character is actually a Brit and sounds like a retard when speaking Dutch. At least all of the other Dutch people are actually Dutch and speaking Dutch.

I enjoyed The Serpent when it was shown on BBC One earlier this year. It was sad though but it was a fact based drama after all.

Sherlock - The Reichenbach Fall
Don't listen to anyone who tells you this show was rubbish all along. This episode is one of the best things put on telly that decade.

I'm still watching Wentworth Prison on dvd and I've nearly finished watching season four. It's good and it's a shame that the next series will be the last one. Line Of Duty tonight and I can't wait and I really hope that the rumours aren't true.

I absolutely loved Line Of Duty last night and I didn't want it to end. I read that it was going to be good though and it was and what a great cliffhanger at the end. Who is Jo related to? Also, will poor Ted really retire and why do they want him to? Could it be that they want him out of the way because they're actually bent? There's so many questions to be answered.

Watched the Buster Keaton film The General for the first time tonight. Must be one of the most supreme works of art I've ever witnessed. No wonder there was resistance against sound coming in; silent cinema was an immensely sophisticated art form in its own right.

I watched 'Manta, Manta' again yesterday. It's a German comedy film from 1991 that pokes fun at the Opel Manta B and the allegedly low intelligence of Manta drivers.

Shameless is over after 10 years. 9/10 tv show became 6,7/10 tv show few years/seasons ago. Now people are acting that they are disappointed with season finale. Quality of last episode is the same as quality of other episodes this season. Or previous. It became tv show that you are watching because you are bored and you are watching it too long to stop now and not watch it to the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed Staged with David Tennant and Michael Sheen and also, the fact that the episodes are only 15 minutes long goes well with my current extra short attention span

I'm waiting for Line Of Duty and I hope that nothing drastic happens tonight. I wonder if Jo will get killed off before the end of the season.

Jo and Tommy were relatives.
I can't wait for next Sunday! Kate can't be dead!

Yeah, Jo and Tommy are related but I wasn't too surprised really from what I had read anyway. And, as for Kate, well from looking at what happens next Sunday it looks like she is indeed dead. But we'll just have to wait and see. But we all know that Line Of Duty is famous for killing off major characters.

matt Spielberg season kicked off in our household tonight with Duel.
Wow... What a masterpiece. For most filmmakers Duel would be their calling card; for Spielberg it's just an early gem. But what a gem! 50 years old and still terrifying, thrilling, riotously entertaining movie magic. I was astounded by the technical credentials of the film. Gorgeous framing, intelligent sound design, and it captures a sense of speed better than any other car chase movie I can think of--even The Italian Job (although I haven't seen the latter for many a year). It also has one of the best uses of slow-mo I've ever seen. Full marks from me.

In next week's TV book it says for this coming Sunday's episode of Line Of Duty that fans of the interview scenes are in for a treat. So it should be good then.

Ah you totally nailed it there. I remember watching it when I was 10 years old and was blown away by it. And I didn't see it for a long long time until a couple of years back and taking notice of the film, its the stuff you mention that makes it so great. The tension is always sustained and there's not one moment that flags; even the scenes outside the chase, I love the diner scene and the overthinking and paranoia that goes on. His characters are always everyday folk, never alpha male Hollywood heroes which makes it more disturbing that this ordinary man gets terrorised. Spielberg's also so great at creating tension - always simple, never complex, has an intense focus on the characters involved and creates a claustrophobic feel. Reminds me a bit of this scene from Close Encounters. The dynamic camera work in Duel is amazing (e.g. when the truck is introduced its this massive panning shot from very low level which is intimidating, also the phone box scene never fails to terrify me) and the sound ramps up the intensity. Such a great great film, one of my favourite Spielberg films for sure. I hear you about The Italian Job - that's another memorable film from my childhood. It's got amazing set pieces for its chase scenes but doesn't quite have the coherence, editing and tension that Spielberg can create from a chase. That's the difference a genuinely great director makes.
