For the longest time I thought the expression "in any way, shape or form" was instead something like "in any way shay/shae perform" which I know makes no sense whatsoever. I felt like such a fool when I found out the truth, and I was reminded of it now again when I heard someone using it. To my defence I never used it myself, because I knew there might be a chance that I was just a moron. Rick should have known better.

I've been saving up for a rant for a while, but it's gonna have to wait, because there is no way I'm gonna try to follow that!

Yes, production & mixing are two different things; a great song can be ruined by a bad production (synths, tacky or overblown arrangements, schmaltzy strings), that's why some producers are as famous as the artists they worked with (George Martin, Phil Spector, Brian Eno, Bob Ezrin, Rick Rubin, Dr Dre...), whereas no one knows the name of a sound engineer.

Biting your own mouth is the worst feeling ever. It's so unexpected every time, and you feel so stupid for letting it happen that you get almost furious with yourself, while at the same time you want to cry and have someone to come up to you and give you a hug and say that everything will be alright. Happened to me yesterday, and I have barely recovered emotionally.

Isn't that arrangement? I think of arrangement and production as different (in rock music, not hip-hop) and mixing as part of production.

I watched bits & pieces of 41’s funeral today. I just want to say that I consider myself an Atheist and I know all the words to The Apostles’ Creed. 🙄 (Note: I went to Catholic School. Also, I’m not someone who isn’t going to wish you a Happy (insert holiday) or get upset if you say “God bless you.)

Oh come on, if it's obvious for any band why are they so popular then it's for Queen. I understand if you are not a big fan but when you hear songs like We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions... you can hear from first few seconds that those are huge anthems and radio hits. I could understand if you wrote - ''I don't understand why were they critically acclaimed band (were they?) when they were not so good and they wrote shitty commercial music'' but don't how you can't see why were/are they so popular.

Queen? I’m not a fan by any means, their songs to me are mostly hollow bombast. But I’ll be damned if I don’t acknowledge what they mean to millions and millions of people. Just take a look at the Live Aid performance. Probably the single greatest live performance by any act ever. Look at the way he interacts with the crowd - particularly the notes he gets the crowd to sing after Radio Gaga.
Spellbinding charisma. To unify a 90,000 crowd through sheer optimism and fun is bordering on genius - no frontman comes close to that communal binding. I might not enjoy their songs but you’d surely have to have a cold heart to not smile and see how much of a euphoric effect he has on everyone.

Popular wasn't the right word, I more meant "why are they so consensual ?" In real life, I've met people disliking The Beatles, The Stones, Oasis, Radiohead, The Beach Boys, Mozart, Bach, etc. But I can't remember someone saying to me "I don't like Queen".
And a song like Bohemian Rhapsody is often cited among with A Day In The Life or Good Vibrations as one of the greatest songs of all the time, and that's pure madness.
But yeah Freddie Mercury is probably one of the most charismatic frontman ever.
