It's the definition of average, with a few hints of solid material (FLW, WW, TRC, TMS). Thank god they are good musicians, though, because they make up for the average tunes with their live performances. As long as we are on different sides of the fence I will always be convinced i'm on the right path. You really are a complete idiot.

The funny thing is that up until a few months ago, NL4E really liked DGSS. You can find threads of him praising it.

Same as when it came out really. I love Millionaire, Bring The Light, Wigwam, Kill For A Dream, Beat Goes On and Morning Son (despite that dreadful mistake). For Anyone is cute, Four Letter Word, Wind Up Dream and Three Ring Circus are ok. The Roller is too derivative to be any good. Beatles and Stones, I don't even know who wrote that, but it's the worst song Liam, Gem or Andy, or the two or three of them has ever written. If Noel was still around, it wouldn't have passed the quality control just because of its title.
First post, so hello world !

Can't say I have any real want to listen to it any more. I gave it a few spins, had fun at the gig, but it was a pretty forgettable CD. To be fair, I haven't listened to HFB for a while now either!

Well, Noel wrote High Horse Lady which is just as bad as Beatles and Stones (I quite like it to be honest) or even worse.

Congrats. Hope to see more from you. Well, Noel wrote High Horse Lady which is just as bad as Beatles and Stones (I quite like it to be honest) or even worse. For some reason I like HHL a lot more. It's not a great song but I like its cool blues vibe and the way it fades into Falling down. The main problem I have with Beatles and Stones is that it's about the bloody Beatles and Stones and oh, what a surprise, it sounds like it was a 65 Stones song. Yawn... But at least it sounded less dull live than on the record. Which I still like

Yeah, Noel let some real turds go on to some Oasis albums (most of them his own). He had his share... But he also spared us from The Roller for 10 years ! I'm being sarcastic, it's ok really but they should have really made it sound less like Instant Karma.

I forgot Standing On The Edge of Noise. It's ok-ish. Bit Oasis by numbers but Liam does a good job, I like the second verse !

Four Letter Word Then - Nice rock song, has the Oasis feel to it - 6/10 Now - One of the highlights of the album, no surprise they decided to open with it - 8/10
Millionaire Then - Boring song, skip every time it comes up on my MP3 player - 2/10 Now - Heard it one day and did not get a chance to skip, ended up repeating many times, nice song overall - 7/10
The Roller Then - Top notch song, class of the album - 9/10 Now - A bit cliche of Liam to so blatantly copy Lennon, melody gets old after a while - 6/10
Beatles and Stones Then - Absolute borefest, only decent part is "when i get home" - 3/10 Now - No decent parts at all, skip - 2/10
Wind Up Dream Then - Meh - 5/10 Now - Not bad, has good parts, but missing something - 6/10
Bring the Light Then - What. The. F*** are they thinking? - 3/10 Now - Has a lot of energy at least, worth a listen every now and again - 5/10
For Anyone Then - Is this a song or an interlude with vocals? - 3/10 Now - Decent, reminds me of Songbird, better in concert with stepped down vocals - 5/10
Kill For A Dream Then - You're better than this, Andy... maybe not actually - 2/10 Now - I'd kill for this song to go away - 1/10
Standing on the Edge of the Noise Then - Sounds like a rock song, just lacking something, probably sense - 4/10 Now - Gem's no Noel, ITBWAB would have been much better - 1/10
Wigwam Then - Stupid title, too long, but some decent parts - 5/10 Now - Stupid title, but I could see this one on an Oasis album - 6/10
Three Ring Circus Then - Meh, it's OK - 5/10 Now - Beginning of the song is great, then it kind of fades away into nothing - 5/10
The Beat Goes On Then - Holy s***. Liam finally got his wish, they're just like the Beatles! - 9/10 Now - Song's pretty boring and lyrics are cheesy - 5/10
The Morning Son Then - I don't get it.... 3/10 Now - Decent, not sure if I would rate it very highly, but it is a different direction and they did a good job with it - 6/10
Bonus Man of Misery Then - Not much substance to it - 4/10 Now - Nice rocking song and wish it made it to the album - 6/10
OVERALL Then - 45 Now - 49
This album has several quality songs I listen to often, however, the rest of the album is a borefest. It has that 60s production sound which I absolutely hate, the only reason I can't handle but so much of the Beatles at a time. A pretty good effort for their first time out without Noel and if only they can write less filler the second album should put them near the top.
For the record, I fully support Liam in the war against Noel. I'd probably rate Noel's album a bit higher just because the filler songs aren't as unlistenable.

Four Letter Word: Love it! Great opener - 8/10
Millionaire: Still can't believe it was released. Just, over long and boring - 3/10
The Roller: One of my favourites...still works well, love the instant lyric from Liam - 8.5/10
Beatles & Stones: Meh...Not worth the place - should have been In The Bubble With A Bullet instead - 4/10
Wind Up Dream: Boring...Should have been Two Of A Kind instead! - 3/10
Bring The Light: Ok so the lyrics ain't brilliant but the pounding beat I love - 7/10
For Anyone: It's ok...gets boring the longer it goes on but it's alrite - average - 5/10
Kill For A Dream: "You can carry regrets but they won't let you live" <---- one of my favourite, if not the favourite, lyric by them so far. I also think it's one of my favourite tracks as well - 8/10
Standing On The Edge Of The Noise: Hate the production, hate the effects, hate the song....should have been Man Of Misery - 2/10
Wigwam: A nice relaxing song - maybe a bit long but thats the point of the song. It just, works! - 8/10
Three Ring Circus: The chorus is the best bit for me, the rest just bores me - 5/10
The Beat Goes On: Ok, so I was wrong last year when I said this was the best song on the album. The only song for me that has really grown worse with age sadly. Its ok but I don't ever go out my way to play it. When it plays I love it - 7/10
The Morning Son: Easily my favourite - best they have done. Love everything about it - 9/10
B-sides and more:
World Outside My Room: Should have been on the album, beautiful and simple - 8/10
Two Of A Kind: Could have been on the album for a few songs. Nice Rocker! 7/10
Man Of Misery: Should be on the album, perfect production. Lyrics suit it well - 8/10
Blue Moon: Not properly released I know, but I do think it's actually a good cover - 7/10
Across The Universe: Was a decent cover, but was never going to be brilliant - 4/10
Sons Of The Stage: Best cover they have done to date...always gets me rocking when I hear it - 8/10
