i looked at this at lunchtime in WH Smith, its AWFUL. NOTHING new in it, just a lot of re printed articles that you can find online easily. nothing on the new album, a cobbled together piece of AA, but no real album info. Oh and some pictures....of NOEL! which you have seen before!

Oh and some pictures....of NOEL! which you have seen before! I figured as much. NME is always late with the news. My gut told me they were just going to collect all the previous info on the AA album, write it up in a nice paragraph or two and call it exclusive news. Shame on you NME. "A day late and a dollar short" should be their motto.

Saw this today in the shop, total crap - 2 or 3 interview articles are identical to the NME special released in 2002.

Looks like the only thing that might raise my spirits about not cancelling my order in time, is if I somehow meet Noel and get him to sign my copy.... Although, that would make my life.

For the competition, I'm stuck two quotes:
11) "It's amazing that bands like ---- ----- get record deals. You've seen a photograph of them, right? You look at photographs of these people and think, 'How does that happen?'"
15) "I fucking love --- -------, I love the way they look, I love what they stand for, I love the fucking drummer... but that second album? It's fucking dog's piss."

Does anyone else have any opinions on whether this is worth the dosh? I'm thinking about getting this tomorrow but don't particularly want to waste a fiver on it if it's all stuff I've read recently. If it includes any interviews from the 90's or early 2000's I'll probably get it. The last one they did with Noel talking about how during I Am The Walrus they'd all try and finish first to get to the champagne before it ran out had me pissing myself. In fact, has anyone got a link to that interview?

I got it yesterday... Only flicked through it, and read a little bit, but it's quite good from what I've seen... It's a good 'souvenir' thingy...

There's another small bit in today's NME - 1 page - where they ask musicians to nominate 'the best albums you've never heard'. Noel picked 3 and there's a small interview / soundbites from him. The 3 albums were The Corner of Miles and Gil by Shack (Noel admits it was released on his own label and there's loads of copies left), the majestic Koniki by Cotton Mather and I think the third was that Edgar Jones album he was fond of a few years back.
