"You're quite lively for a Belgian crowd aren't you?"Due to me leaving too late in a combination with a lot of traffic jams, I totally missed the opening act and only arrived about 10 minutes before the High Flying Birds were ready to take off! Nevertheless, using our female forces, we managed to wrestle ourselves halfway through the venue, to a good spot about in the middle with, most importantly, a good view on our Noel. When the AA remix of IIHAG started, a few people were singing along already, so it promised to be a good gig! Opening with It's Good To Be Free, followed by Mucky Fingers, as usual. It left a lot of people in doubt though: 'Was that an Oasis song? It's not on the album! Is it a new song?' Pretty funny, although I still think he should open with something else! Then Everybody's On The Run. A lot of people singing along! And even in Dream on, people were shouting along through the whole venue! You could already see on Noel's face that he was quite surprised about the reception he was getting! If I Had A Gun started of amazing. A lot of people singing along again! This could really be the new 'Wonderwall' if he would play it acousticly! In between songs Noel mentionned that we were "quite lively for a Belgian crowd" and that he "played here with Oasis before, but it never was like this". He seemed genuinly impressed with us, which only made us even louder ofcourse! The Good Rebel was better live, but I still find the song a bit bland. Not many people knew what it was either, and the people next to me were trying to assure me the song was called 'Black Rain' The Death of You And Me, being a single, ofcourse got a great reception. Not many people singing along though. Then Freaky Teeth! What a tune that is! People were jelling the title before he started and his reply was “I’m going to play it, but not because you asked it. I was going to play it anyway, so shut up.” Then the acoustic bit. Wonderwall was amazing! A lot of confused people in the beginning, since it was the Ryan Adams version ofcouse, but after the first few lines they were over it and singing their hearts out! Same for Supersonic! One of the best Supersonicss as of yet in my opinion! Great quality video here btw! A lot of of people singing along with Record Machine as well, which surprised me again! It seemed like the whole venue had listed to the album a million times before comming to the gig! What A Life wasn't nearly as good as on the record, and the first time that Noels voice didn't hold up very well (in the high parts). It has been a single but hasn't been played much over here, so it was about the first song (bar the two opening songs) that didn't get great reaction. It stayed that way for Talk Tonight and Soldier Boys And Jesus Freaks. The banter was again Noel picking on some people on the first rows. “Come to Columbia? Why? You’re here, I’m here, fuck the rest of them!” and “You want a picture? With me? No” The next song was announced as "This is a song for all the ladies". Broken Arrow! A favourite of mine! Then Half the World Away, a lot of singing (or shouting) along again! Closing the set was ofcourse Stranded On The Wrong Beach. Starts of very psychedelic. Love it! Most of the people didn't really seem to know it though, but it was a good closer! Then the encore. Needles to say that was amazing! Little By Little blew the roof off! Importance of being Idle, was never the biggest fan of this song, but it was good! And then, Don't Look Back In Anger'! The whole venue had it's hands in their air and was singing their lungs out! Amazing! Noel stepped back during the chorus and watched us singing our hearts out with a big smile appearing on his face (1.50)! You could clearly see he enjoyed it as well! What a gig! You could clearly see the whole band enjoyed it very much! The bass player looked pretty stoned by the way and had this stupid smile on his face for pretty much the whole gig! Also, the guitarist got boo'ed again after introducing him as being from the USA Also remember him looking and smiling at Noel at some point when we were all singing along. Great gig!

Pretty long review, now that I see it, but it's going to one of my last posts for a while so that sould make up for it The gig made me realise it's all about the music! I wanna go back to that! Cause since I'm on here I feel a bit trapped in all these endless and pointless discussions and arguments. So I'm going to retire for a while and stick to watching YouTube videos in stead of reading every single interview in which they only slate eachother and devide their fans! Fools! One last thing though: Jonkhy, you said you were going to tape the gig? Would love to hear it again and would appreciate very much if you shared it! Edit: I wanted to add a big THANK YOU to everyone on here that ever taped gigs, shared them, made artworks, scanned interviews, poster reviews, ... and that make this place as cool as it is!

Don't even think he'll want to reform Oasis again with the reactions of the crowds he's getting

Yeah it was a brilliant gig! Me and my friends were stuck in traffic, so we arrived just when the opening act was playing their last songs. Was quite bummed that I wasn't on the front row like with BDI, but whatever It was an amazing gig though, my throat still hurts. The band and Noel sounded amazing, his voice is really holding up well. Btw I shouted Freaky Teeth a few times when I knew the song was coming, didn't understand what he said to us after that, but I thought he was looking at my direction (but on the other hand, you always think that at those gigs so.. ;-)) When half the world away started I was pointing to the guitarist (because he's from the USA) I'm quite sure that he got my meaning because he smiled at me. I really don't get why he's getting so many boo's at each gigs, it's probably Noel's die-hard UK fanbase doing that? Still don't get why the band and especially the guitarist are getting such a hard time on this forum. I though they sounded amazing, really tight. As for the guitarist, I'm sure he's a better guitarist than Noel. I know that doesn't say much, because Noel isn't brilliant at playing guitar, but some people should consider that before slagging him of. On final note: it's obvious that Noel's songs are much better than BDI's songs, and the Oasis songs only make everything even better. But still I didn't find this gig that much better than BDI's gig. Mind you, I really, really liked BDI's gig, but I think it's impressive that they gave such a good live performance whilst not having the songs. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that my expectations also were much higher on this gig... Can't wait to see them at the festivals!

I know that doesn't say much, because Noel isn't brilliant at playing guitar, but some people should consider that before slagging him of. Because people like to complain. The people that have actually been to the gigs agree that the band sounds damn good. They sounded very tight to me in Toronto. The main problem I had with the show-the performance of WAL-was purely Noel's fault. He can't project strong enough on the falsetto part for it to come over, and he refuses or can't play the guitar part properly like it is on the album...

The gig made me realise it's all about the music! I wanna go back to that! Cause since I'm on here I feel a bit trapped in all these endless and pointless discussions and arguments. So I'm going to retire for a while and stick to watching YouTube videos in stead of reading every single interview in which they only slate eachother and devide their fans! Fools! I totally get where you're coming from but I really hope you change your mind. I really like reading your posts! In fact, you and GDForever are possibly two of my favourites on here, and even though you never seem to agree on anything, oddly enough I agree with 90% of what each of you is writing. ;D Oasis is the first band that have their acrimonous break up while I'm a fan and I've realised early on that I don't take it particularly well. And since I can't even pick my favourite Gallagher brother I'm kind of jumping back and forth even with who to believe what actually happened. So when I need more pro-Liam news I'm reading more of your posts and when I want to have my news a bit more Noel-biased I'm reading more GD. If you leave now this will completely fuck up this carefully constructed balance And I really liked your review, too. I've seen Noel in Cologne on Sunday and it was almost as if you described that gig. EOTR, Dream On and Record Machine were brilliant and the whole crowd was singing along. All the singles were really great + well received (WAL a bit less so than the other two). HTWA was a highlight, as well as Wonderwall and Supersonic of course (but with a more subdued singalong due to the way Noel played it. Which was great, nothing sounds weirder to me than Noel playing the Ryan Adams version and the crowd kind of singing as if they were listening to Liam's original ) Broken Arrow was a personal highlight for me, can't objectively say how many other people were singing along because I was freaking out so much. ;D And then the encore which was really amazing again (and I don't particularly like IOBI either)...so yes, really, what a great gig!!!

Well you don't have to worry about the balance, you can go to BE section and have some pro-Liam comments. People on this board are divided into small groups subconciously, which I find it not good at all somtimes.

There is a general dis-like of America in England (especially the working class north of the country). Although, some of it is tongue-in-cheek, to be fair.
