None of the youtube clips or live tv performances does Noel any justice. What an awesome awesome gig. Best gig I've been to other than Oasis, of course.
I also forgot how good Mucky Fingers is live. What a brilliant tune that is. I take back everything bad I said for Noel including it in his set list.
Wonderwall was spine-tingling brilliant, as was DLBIA. And I've warmed to the electric version of Talk Tonight. Even the guitar solo in Little By Little, while slightly different, was not as bad as it was on Jonathon Ross and actually quite good.
Noel's banter was top class too, after being silent for the first few songs. The football banter was hilarious, and the Chelsea fans hahahaha.
Have to say, I really liked the light show, too. It was well done.
What a gig. Noel at his finest Thoroughly enjoyed that.

Just got back to the DC area. Overall, a very fine night out. Always good to worship at the altar of a Gallagher. Had Row D seats on the main floor, but they turned out to be kinda shit. Narrow rows didn't leave much room to move around, and the age/design of the theatre made it so that it was hard to see Noel. Moved to a wing, up against the wall midway through, and that was fantastic. Some overall thoughts: - The If I Had A Gun remix played before he came on didn't have any verses or anything to it. Think that's how it'll be on the album, or that's an edited version? - I think It's Good To Be Free played electrically would be more appropriate for an opener. It's got a shredding guitar solo in it. - Really need a harmonica on Mucky Fingers. Otherwise, LOVE that live. - Freaky Teeth had to be the highlight for me. Awesome song, awesome lights to it. Almost think it should go into the encore as closer. - Still surprised he's playing Wonderwall. The Masterplan would be more fitting. - Love Stranded on the Wrong Beach. Best album song live. - Didn't think the guitarist, an American (way hey!), quite played the solos fittingly. - Oh...and not to forget, The Good Rebel, another major highlight. Overall, I think there's too many Oasis songs in the set. Was real surprised at the crowd's healthy reaction to Little By Little. There are a couple more bsides that could be fit in, and I don't understand why Stop The Clocks couldn't be played, considering it has a nice solo/freak out to jam on. Noel seemed in a good mood. Best banter was when he asked how the local football team was doing. He must've saw a double-thumbs down, because he imitated it and said, "that's the universal sign for WE'RE SHIT!"...good stuff. Finally, with so many songs with important horns in it, I think Noel needs to get horny! The saloon-parlor piano effect for all the horn parts doesn't quite do it for me. Even if its just one horn. Get one horn guy in America, one for Europe. Definitely think it would add an element to what is apparently Noel's new sound. Great performance, good atmosphere, great city/night...decent venue...an 8.5/10 for sure. Maybe it's because I've seen them so many times, maybe it's because I'm not drinking anymore, but I don't get in awe like I might've. MAYBE, it's cos no one on the board came through with some TREES!! Beady Eye was a sweaty, summer, stand-up rock show. Noel's seemed like a greatest hits tour. Loved 'em both, just calling it as I see it.

Fantastic gig tonight. All the new songs came off terrific. Noel really got the crowd going with his acoustic version of Supersonic. Stranded On The Wrong Beach sounds so sinister live. Loving it. Looking forward to seeing him again Monday and Tuesday in New York City!!!
BTW...anyone else get stuck by that group of guys who chanted either "Noeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllll" or screamed "Slide Away!" between every song the entire night? That got old fast.

This show really was excellent. Stranded On The Wrong Beach was a highlight for me - much better live than on the album. No major complaints, but I thought the vocals were too loud during Record Machine for some reason (anyone else notice this?). Wonderwall isn't my favorite Oasis song, but I really liked the arrangement they chose for this tour, and the poppier feel for Talk Tonight was great. Apart from Noel being great as always, the keyboard playing was a highlight, and I thought the sound was mixed very well (not too bass-heavy or skull-crushingly loud like some other shows I've been to recently).

Just a stunning show. First off, the venue, while older, is very nice. Noel described it as a sort of mini Albert Hall for America. The sound was great. It was loud enough that you heard the band above everyone singing, but not too loud that you couldn't understand what Noel was singing and saying. I was lucky enough to have a seat in one of the parquet boxes that was dead center stage. Me and the guy sitting next to me (by the way, if he's on here... Hey Shawn) find them to be excellent seats to not only be able to clearly see the band, but also the light show.
As far as the setlist goes, after actually being there for a performance of it, I love the acoustic version of Supersonic. I wasn't too keen on it from hearing it online. The only thing I had a slight problem with was that, for me, it felt kind of odd when he'd play an Oasis track between the High Flying Birds tracks. I guess my mind hasn't learned to accept that they're all Noel-penned songs yet. And Freaky Teeth... what a song. And if you steamed/downloaded it and listened to it online and thought it was amazing, it doesn't touch how kick-ass it is when you hear it live.
Noel's banter was good too. My personal favorite of the evening was when he found out this woman named her child after him.
Just a great gig. Hopefully he comes back to Philly soon.

Great Show!
My thoughts...... - Everybody's on the Run was the highlight for me, as I thought it would be.
- Other highlights included Dream On, Good Rebel, Freaky Teeth, and Stranded On Wrong Beach.
- For some reason, enjoyed the newer stuff WAY more than the old.
- Wonderwall was my bathroom break.
- As for the guys screaming out requests, I said to myself: "Dont they know the setlist?". I guess because I check it after every show means that everyone should.
- Show seemed "sped up"......but I guess its because his songs only last 3 or 4 minutes. Or because I was having such a good time.
- No beer IN the theatre.....UGH!
- Crowd seemed very loud for 2,500 fans. Nice job!

That was a brilliant show, honestly. He sounded better live than he does on cd's or for that matter any other time live, seriously. That was mind blowing. The banter between songs was great, he really is an hilarious guy. He looked like he had all the confidence in the world, and he seems to fit the frontman role. He put on a great show, the lights were great, everything. The highlight for me was DLBIA. I said before I die I want to be apart of a live version of the song, with my arms around some friends. I got my chance and honestly, thats what it's all about. That moment was spine tingling. I know Noel will always be my favorite musician ever, but to see him live and be apart of the show took him to another level. Great gig, great guy, and I'm glad I got the chance to see the Chief for myself!

I also want to point out that he got a fantastic reception. I thought the crowd was pretty impressive.
Everything about last night was done to perfection.
Now I look forward to my second BDI concert in December. They are good for what they are, but nothing can touch Noel's performance. I was really impressed.

So in the span of a few months you've gotten your picture taken with Gem, gotten Liam's microphone at the BDI gig, AND conversed with Noel himself! I repeat: I think it's my lucky shirt! I remember you both from the BDI gig in philly! I was w the missus in the very top balcony, watching natalie and her husband in the front row to the right of Noel, and when he started talking to you about your son I was telling my wife "Wait! I know these folks, they were next to me during the whole BDI set!" I waited for almost two hours by the tour bus with some nice guys from NJ, cheers to you if you're reading this (what was up w that obnoxious drunken Mexican who wouldn't behave?) All the musicians came out and all were nice and somewhat chatty, when Noel came out he signed like 6 things (including my ticket!) but didn't say a fucking word, I was a bit disappointed, after so many years of picturing that moment, the man did not say a word to anyone...Then the drunken Mexican grabbed Noel for a picture, security pulled him away and off he was, straight to the bus. The show was superb, I particularly enjoyed LBL and was underwhelmed by TDOYAM (a horn section would help)..Otherwise happy to hear such a nice mix of the new songs and some oasis classics and bsides. Even the missus admitted that she is now more appreciative of his music Attachments:

Incredible show.
Highlights: EOTR, HTWA, WAL, DLBIA, and most of all - Freaky Teeth
My only complaint would be Its Good To Be Free as the set opener.

Yeah what was up with that hispanic guy? At one point I saw him dancing in the aisle like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever pointing at the sky. He was even worse outside by the tour bus. He kept calling the asian woman who worked at the theater "Yoko!". Awkward. Please tell me security grabbed him before getting that photo with Noel.

Okay, kids are finally sleeping, here's my story from the front row of the place. Gorgeous venue, great ambiance, great sound! My husband and I got into the city around 3ish, found the venue, walked around a few times. There were two tour buses on the side street, and a handful of random fans hanging out by the buses. Believe me, had it just been up to me, I'd have joined them. BUT, we were hungry so we headed over to Black Sheep a little early. In retrospect, next time I try to organize a mass meetup, I might bring a sign or something with me. I'm sure I was partying along many of you there, and had no idea. But the people we did manage to meet were a blast, and we had a really good time. Headed over to Fado's twice, that place was packed, then headed over to the AoM. My first impression was that most of the people waiting for the show to start in the lobby area, before they opened the doors, had absolutely no idea they were about to see Noel Gallagher. Just saying. They were about the quietest group I've come upon standing in line for a concert. We took our seats as the opening act was on, and I was absolutely astounded! The stage was right smack in front of me. No pit (thank God!) and as I watched The Hours (my husband liked them a lot) I realized that Noel was about to be about fifteen feet from where I was standing. Holy shit. I had come prepared with two cameras and two smart phones, prepared to take as many pictures as our batteries and camera cards would stand for. Security had another idea, as within 10 minutes, the same security guard told me twice to put my camera away. So, I did what any self-respecting woman at a Noel Gallagher concert would do. I left to get a drink. It was right about then that I realized that somehow my front row ticket had managed to slip out of my back pocket and was now missing. You can imagine the string of four-letter-words that were coming out of my mouth. A frantic search turned up nothing, but they didn't seem to have an issue letting me back in. My biggest fear was that someone'd pick it up and try to take my seat. I let my new friend in security know what happened and he told me not to worry. Cool. I'd do him a favor in return and try to disguise my picture-taking then. So, Noel comes on stage, I'm in awe, and I decided to forget about pics for a while and just enjoy the moment. My first impression as Noel came on was that the audience behind me was spectacular! It was loud, which is just how it should be. Yet all the people who were standing out front before the show (the funeral attendees, or whoever they were) had now managed to find themselves into the front row as well. I realized that my husband and I would have to represent what it meant to be an Oasis (and now NGHFB and BDI fans), and the rest of our row was busy napping. Eventually we were joined by another couple, who seemed to be a bit lively, but why would you go to see Noel Gallagher and just stand there staring back at him as he's singing 10 feet from you?? So early on in the show, my husband, an avid sports fan with a loud booming voice that could frighten a linebacker, is shouting "You're Welcome!" everytime Noel says "Thank You." So finally Noel turned to him and said, "No, you're welcome. You paid for the tickets, so YOU'RE welcome." My knees = instantly week. Noel Gallagher, Noel Freaking Gallagher just spoke to us. Awesome. Just before TDOYAM, we have a bit more interaction with Noel. If you get a chance, youtube it, it was pretty cool. It started with something similar to the above, with Noel saying to my husband, "No thank YOU very much." Then he points to us and said, "There's a lot of love going on in this corner of the stage." Holy shit, more recognition from Noel. Going. To. Die. So now that I've got his attention, I shout out, "We named our son after you!" This is true. Noel Ethan Gallagher (yes, he has two middle names). To which Noel looked genuinely impressed and somewhat honored by this, and asked if he was as good looking as him. I told him, "Yes, but he's blond!" He asked how old he was, and told us to tell him he said hello (of course we did the next day). My favorite part of the banter: He told us he looked forward to seeing him in twenty years time on that very stage. Damn I hope so, the kids loves guitars already and he's only 3! Just before the encore, my husband (the louder one of the two of us) is shouting "You're a genius!" Noel responds, "Yes, yes, yes, I know." and something to the effect of, "I feel like I should give you money or something." We asked for a guitar pick, which he gave to us. I'm going to give it a test-drive, but then put it into a frame with the pics from the night. Then he dedicated Little By Little, one of my all-time favorites, to me. "Not in lyrical content, but the thought of the song," he told me, "The lyrics are about a right-bitch. Which you're obviously not." (Thanks for seeing that, I do try to be a good person in life ) Then he said that if we bought a t-shirt he'd appreciate it. So that's my story from 11/11/11. Didn't think much could have topped the Beady Eye concert back in June, but I was hoping... What a cool night. I did manage some pics once Noel came on, so once I upload, I will gladly share. A few video clips, but they're only clips. My favorite security guard was standing next to me the whole night. He wasn't much of a dancer, but I'm pretty sure he's now deaf in one ear. Sorry 'bout that. PS) Managed to also walk out with Noel's set list as well. That was cool too )

I was at the Black sheep prior to the show for a bit. Me and my GF ate dinner there but we had to do so standing up as it was so packed. If anyone saw a 6'3 fella, blue North face, and a gray kangol cap on that was me.
Thats so crazy Natalie. I was sitting up in Row AA (1st row) at the very end of 1st balc on the right hand side of stage. I could hear the whole back and forth between you, your husband, and noel. Thats so funny that was you.
My seats were great. I literally was looking right down at the front of the stage. My GF also managed to take some great pictures of the show for a great vantage point.
I really like that venue. The only downside is that you cant bring beers to your seats (not sure if thats the whole venue or just our section). However, that wasnt that big of deal.
All in all a great time.
