Noel is just starting out on his own, he'll get into his stride quick enough. Even BDI (minus Liam, but then he's done it all before) looked a bit awkward for the first couple of gigs while they bedded into the songs and they've played together for 10 years...

It was solid, but we all know Noel can do better. Frankly, I don't understand why he's not belting this out like he did with the likes of LBL and DLBIA circa 2002 and 2000, and I have no idea why his acoustic performances have been poor by his TCT standards. Maybe he's just getting used to the new songs, still? I really think that's the case. By 2000, Noel was playing DLBIA for around five years? Plus he has constantly said that this isn't the stadium rock he made for Oasis, so maybe as a result he using a softer vocal style. Noel has always known his strengths and limitations, vocal-wise.

I actually said something similar to Lennon and deleted coz i couldn't be arsed with the fall out but.............. was pretty pub rock. Seriously unimpressed with the guitarist. First sign of amateurishness for me is a 'lead guitarist' playing with a capo on the same fret as the rhythm player. I HATE that. Always was pleased Gem rarely did that so to add a different tone by playing chords elsehwere. But jesus, this is lazy the guitars could have been blended better, the drummer was too harsh, and the keyboardist was too funky...but all in all I'm pretty satisfied

It's just so weird seeing Noel with a totally new band. It didn't look as odd with Beady Eye, because only Noel was missing, but now Noel's center stage and surrounded by completely new people.

He needs to stop - to use one of his own phrases - counting his shoes.

The band is ok, they don´t look like a real band yet. I don´t like the drummer so much, he bangs the drums well but he looks like a fat wanderer amateur. I wasn´t expecting a great guitarist since Noel´s songs don´t need a Clapton, Page or Hendrix. They´d get bored in the first minute of the song.
The perfomances are ok, but dear god, take that boring and grumpy face off of Noel, he makes me think he doesn´t enjoy playing live anymore (you´re all grown up, don´t you ever wanna play???)

Did Noel deliberately pick a bunch of balding badly dressed old men for his band to make himself look younger and cooler? Cool version of IIHAG, gutted I missed TDOYAM... Youtube version??

You beauty, have some good vibes!
Quite liking the piano solo. It'll be nice after this tour when we've got boots of slightly different versions of all the songs.
Poor Noel, I understand why he seems a bit uncomfortable though - must be weird playing to just one man. One man who is staring at you. Staring right at you...

Noel does not hate them, he pointed out his disapointment previously as to their lack of knowledge of recording music as a band in the traditional sense (Re: Abbey Road programme). And he seems to dislike the fact the try too hard to please the public, which stems from the harsh fact that the lack of quality in the in the songs requires this.
That interview with Jo made it very apparent that he had a very limited musical pedigree, it was almost like seeing a kid who stumbled across a half decent album and when asked to elaborate on it or progress came up wanting. he looked so out of his depth in Noel's company.
To be honest it was a waste of time him and Lennon being there as the were both totally disregarded by Jo and made to look redundent due to Noel's charm and intelligence.
