To keep the trend that has developed over the last 5 years, here's the official Arsenal thread.
As we draw closer to the season and nearing the end of the transfer window, I seriously hope AW is going to buy both a center defender and a defensive midfielder. Looks like Nasri and Cesc will be staying - poor business on the former should he leave on a free next year, but good on the latter who will remain crucial and committed to the cause.

I think fabregas should be sold... he wants to play in barcelona so bad that I feel pity for him.

Get that huge load of money from the selling of Fabregas and Nasri and spend it on theat defence, but Wenger will have to re-invest quickly if he wants to make a mark. Cahill, Jagielka, Dann - all tough defenders that the squad desperately needs. Wilshere is the way forward, time to build a team around him as he is SPECIAL - even more than Fabregas, doesn't go missing in big games either. They won't feel his loss too badly as Wilshere is more than a suitable replacement. I still have all my faith in Wenger.
Here's hoping Liverpool spring a surprise in the league too - Dalglish is a fuckin legend and I love the man, and I'm a big fan of Villa Boas at Chelsea (though I hate the team) - his philosophy is great and he's not a smug git like Mourinho and he's just what Chelsea need if anyone is to respect them. Now if the Manchester clubs fall flat on their faces this year, that would be just grand.

I don't begrudge Cesc leaving one bit. He's been my favorite player for the past 8 seasons, and I have grown up with him as we're the same age. He makes Arsenal tick, and the team is built around him. There's no doubting I'll miss the little Spanish magician. But he's been a model professional about all of this (his future teammates, though, have not - putting a Barcelona shirt on him at the World Cup celebrations, coming out in the press urging him to join, etc). From day one, he made it clear that he would one day return to Barcelona. He still loves Arsenal. He's not moving because he hasn't won a trophy yet with the Gunners, nor is he chasing the money. He's moving to fulfill a boyhood dream of playing for the team he supported as a child - an establishment he was once part of, and living in his city of birth. All the best to him. Watching him don the Arsenal shirt has been a fucking pleasure.
As for Nasri, I have no respect. He, like Ashley Cole, Mattieu Flamini, and Emanual Adebayor is just chasing the money and trophies. It's really sad. Player loyalty is hard to find these days. I have lost a lot of respect for Nasri. Wenger, though, needs to sell him if he's uncertain he'll sign a contract in the coming year. Losing 20million by letting him go for free next summer would be poor business.
Wenger will have to spend the money, for once, though. Wilshere and Ramsey impress, but they are no Cesc Fabregas. We need someone to jump into the midfield and be that creative and passing maestro. We also need a center defender and a cover for Alex Song in the defensive midfield position (I'm not sure if Frimpong is up to the task....).
With the goalkeeper position finally sorted out, those 3 positions (defender, center mid, and defensive mid) would be ideal.
What pisses me off is how Arsenal dithered this summer. We're a few days away from the start of the season, and we have very tricky games coming up with both Liverpool and United to play this month. Why Arsenal have risked having an unsettled team for the start of the campaign is beyond me.
Just remember, no one player is bigger than the club. Marc Overmars was my favorite player back in the day, and is still an Arsenal legend to me - he was so dynamic and crucial. We sold him, Petit, and Anelka within practically the same time frame (the former two sold in the same summer - how's that for an analogy to the current situation?). The club went on, and continued to be a success. Here's hoping AW can finally find that spark that will light the cannon again.
Keep the faith.

I'm telling you - Wilshere is far more important to Arsenal than Fabregas. Mark my words, he will be the Arsenal captain in a few years.
He's got a strong personality unlike most of the robots in Arsenal and his performances against the big teams have all been fantastic, unlike Fabregas who has gone missing in many matches. He's played brilliantly for England too. I cannot believe he is an English player because he's that good.

What the fuck ref? Why was Gervinho sent off, and Barton escaped with a yellow? Barton is such a thug. Horrible decision.

It was. Arsenal were the better side, but that's not really saying much. It was very uneventful. I think a draw is a fair result. I hope this isn't a harbinger for the season to come - we are nothing without Cesc's creativity. Spend some fucking money, indeed.....

He's moving to fulfill a boyhood dream of playing for the team he supported as a child - an establishment he was once part of, and living in his city of birth. If he'd had the determination to play his way through the ranks at Barcelona as a teenager he could have fulfilled that boyhood dream of his about eight years ago. You'd better pray that Robin Van Persie stays fit, or else it's the Europa League for Arsenal next season.
