Anyone think it'll make any difference in Radio 1's decision about whether to playlist it or not?
It's not an amazing placement...but not too shabby either.

just to let you know this chart is based on the amount of audiences tuned into the song.. its not based on how much the song has been spun.
TDOYAM was played 208times last week in the uk. and had a total of 21.490.000 audience .

gdforever, why do you care about airplay in a country that you don't live in.

gdforever, why do you care about airplay in a country that you don't live in. Besides. I'm not actually concerned. More curious about how they choose their playlist and whether charts like this make any difference. It's mostly an academic question. Also I think it'd be nice if if charted well.

That list of crap makes me wanna puke! How anyone can think all this preset-happy drum loop auto-tuned SHITE is 'good' is beyond me. About only 5 of them tracks (including the chief) most probably have any 'real' acoustic instruments on them (ie real drums, guitar, piano), its no wonder all the recording studios are going bust.

You will on Radio 2. I have a gut feeling Radio 1 wont bother with it, problem is that there is nothing in the top 10 that never gets played by them, they pretty much rule the charts hence the such shocking top 40 i was wondering if Noel's management will be trying to get it on there, do management or the label have any pull when it comes to airplay? i think there is more than enough radio 1 listeners that would be happy to hear Noels track everyday, it seems like they are just purely targeting 10-16 year olds these days

But y'know, their most important audience, the mid-late teens, were barely born when Noel Gallagher was releasing his most famous and successful material. He's too old for Radio 1, especially when you consider the music he is making - if he was making contemporary pop/hip-hop he might sneak in there. But he isn't, so people will have to get over him not getting on Radio 1. The same goes for Beady Eye. I have no issues with the music on Radio 1, the vast majority of it isn't my bag, but I'm in my 30s. The kids rule the singles charts, and that's the way it should stay. The single was definitely put forward to Radio 1, and it was played and considered in the playlist meeting, but it wasn't accepted. It is a very Radio 2 songs, I was saying on here before we heard the single that if it was anywhere near radio friendly then Radio 1 would ignore it and Radio 2 would be all over it - and R2 put it on the A list of most played songs from week 1. Radio 2 has more listeners than Radio 1 so it's not being ignored by the BBC, just put on the station that it's most suited to.

Fair point, but if its an age thing on Noel's part then you could argue that they play foo fighters (dave grohl similar age) and i think they have just playlisted RHCP (anthony kiedis 49 yrs old) But the above i suppose could be that they still have their huge brand by still being in their bands, which leads me to wonder if Oasis were still together now with a single coming out would R1 still play them?

Having said that, I don't know what possessed them to put the new RHCP song on there.

Adele, Katy Perry, Aloe Blacc, Calvin Harris, Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Cee Lo Green, Stevie Nicks and Blondie all have songs there that I would enjoy if they came on the radio.

Strange, i was expecting this exact type of response from you, and i agree with what you say apart from Katy Perry, Jessie J, and Rihanna, all generic shite but of course that is just my opinion

But thanks? People are very quick to dismiss pop music and the like as shit around here. It should be taken as it is.....a pop song is meant to sound nice and get people dancing or happy etc... They are not trying to change the world.
