My excitement was halved when we got told it's in a similar vein to The Importance of Being Idle and Get Off Your High Horse Lady. I hate the former so I've sort of prepared myself for something I probably won't like much.

lol I hope the op isn't allowed to breed. Why do you say that? This is one of the better threads this week. At least it isn't a troll or an idiot posting

I really like GOYHHL, so I'm expecting a mix of something clever like TIOBI with the darker atmosphere of GOYHHL.

Well, whatever it ends up to be, we're still going to be here, posting our thoughts on all things Oasis. Some will like it more, some will like it less, but I really don' think it will change anythign to negatively in our little world.
Its like when Bring the Light came out. A lot were disappointed, a lot more were confused, but even those who don't enjoy BE's work that much are still here discussing the band.
We all expect it to be good. Personally, I love the 18 min soundcheck song and although I am looking forward to the final version, I have a feeling the soundcheck vers will be my favourite.

Then I'll wait patiently for the next single. That's all.
We'll vent a bit...then give it a stupid pun name for a bit eg "bring the shite" then talk about all the other tunes when they come out.

I've learned to not judge the whole album from the lead single... via: Beady Eye

"So Sally can wait, she knows it's too late as she's walking on by.." OMG, I hope to GOD that isn't a real lyric from a song!!!

I've learned to not judge the whole album from the lead single... via: Beady Eye exactly. tue question is not whether the single is good or not, the real question is what happens if the single is not commercial (enough)? If it's doesn't make it in the top 10 or top 15, it'll be a struggle for Noel, not to mention a blow to his ego.

Don't buy the cd if you don't like the song.

If it's doesn't make it in the top 10 or top 15, it'll be a struggle for Noel, not to mention a blow to his ego. Well, look at Beady Eye for example. I know 'Bring the Garbage' wasn't a total flop but it was definitely one of the worst songs off of the album. That being said, it being the lead single didn't really effect how people criticized the rest of the album. So for Noel's album, there isn't too much riding on the single, but it definitely wouldn't hurt if it was at least decent. I mean, people will be skeptical about his album if the single sucks, but that's like that for any band or artist. I know people have higher expectations from Noel, but is there really a doubt in your mind that his album won't be good? I mean, it's Noel... he deserves a lot more leeway.

I still think it will chart higher than The Roller but that's not what i am talking about, im talking about airplay.

to be honest not trying to hype it up too much but Noel hasn't really let me down since HC in terms of A-Sides. I like GOYHHL and MF. I'm at least expecting it to be decent.

i really hope Noel's first song is really good, not like BDI's 'BTL'. you have to come out swinging.
after i heard BTL, i thought, 'shit, this might not be a good sign.', and it wasn't.
God bless BDI, though.
