Brian is a friend of mine, and in all this time he NEVER mentioned anything about doing the artwork for Noel's new album! He must've kept it a big secret!

What did he say in the magazine about Noel's artwork?

I have my doubts...because what it looks like, that album art was taken in L.A, and as far as I'm aware Brian has been in London for the past several months.

Sorry that's my fault. I just read very quickly after the lunch in my company the interview. And he spoke about Noel BUT during the Oasis period. My mistake Anyway the Single artwork is absolutely fantastic Brian Cannon or not.

Interesting. Well I sent him a message...I should get confirmation within the next day or two and when I do I'll post it.
Several months ago when he did the interview with SCYHO, I remember he mentioned that he would certainly be interested in working with Noel on the art for his album, but it would definitely be news to me if he actually went out and did it.

I wonder if Noel will have a little logo?
The Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is a bit longish for me.
I think it'd be great if he adopted a symbol too.

Do solo artists usually do that? I thought logos/symbols are more for bands.

Paul McCartney and Wings had one. Or Ryan Adam and the Cardinals Although both those a bands had a fixed membership. With the fact that Noel isn't billing himself as simply Noel Gallagher...it could be an option. As I say...the name is quite lengthy...I think a good symbol or snappier logo would be great. Just a thought I can't actually think of a solo artist billing themselves like Noel is right now. Usually it's either a new band or they release an album solo and tour as Mr. Fizzle and the Lightening Band or whatever.

Cardinals wasn't really a fixed membership. It changed often enough.

Cardinals wasn't really a fixed membership. It changed often enough. So I see now that I've looked it up. Thanks. So maybe that is a good example then. I had been under the impression they had been a group formed before Ryan Adams and so presumably they had a fixed membership.

Just heard back. Brian is definitively NOT doing the artwork for Noel's album. We can lay this rumor to rest.

^Shame, he's a talented guy. But it speaks well for whoever's done this one (and maybe the rest album itself) that it could be mistaken for a Microdot cover.
