GHOST STORIES by COLDPLAYThis is my favourite night-time record. Listening to it on headphones in the middle of the darkness is a great experience, probably because the sound of the record is so quietly pained, ghostly, and even gothic. Those wedding bells at the end of Oceans! The beautiful ambience that bookends the album! The icy operatics on Another's Arms! You just don't get the effect in daylight. And I don't care what anyone says, A Sky Full of Stars is the perfect penultimate song, finally letting all that pain and distance and isolation wash away in a sea of chocolatey piano chords and joyous EDM breaks. A gorgeous record, one that is slowly becoming my second-favourite from the band. Just don't listen to it when the sun's out.

Free The Bees by The Bees. Underrated record. Overall tons of fun. Not sure if critics appreciate it or not.

The Smiths - Strangeways, Here We Come
I didn't go to bed, I chose to listen to this instead. I want to sleep now, but let's do this first, the album deserves it. So the last album from the greatest band of all time... damn it's a good one. Cut down the outro somewhat on Death of a Disco Dancer(or at least add a second verse), the intro to Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me, and replace the puzzling(for the wrong reasons) Death At One's Elbow with Sheila Take A Bow, and then you've got the perfect album, as well as the best one they ever made, as both Morrissey and Marr seem to believe(not saying they're wrong, but with my corrections they would have been more right).
The album as it stands flows like a fucking river. After the engaging but slightly jarring opener you get a straight rocker(well, close enough), and after the longwinded outro of Disco Dancer you get the instant relief of the absolute pop perfection that is Girlfriend In A Coma. And then you've got Stop Me If... I'll stop myself and cut to the part where I day that it doesn't get better than this. If you try to take it all in at once you will die, so choose between Morrissey's vocal performance, Marr's acoustic guitar inbetween the verses, or the simple but triumphant solo tying the song up in the end. Then we've got another long title, but sadly the intro doesn't compensate by being shorter. That aside, this is Smiths at their most depressing and most elegant. That melody. Those strings. That vocal performance, yet again. Continuing from there, what about Unhappy Birthday? Smooth and witty as hell. Paint A Vulgar Picture? Probably one of their most underrated tracks, and with another pretty simple but delicate solo. Then we have the only disappointment followed by a song that is good but not perfect, however that is only if you ignore the context, which you shouldn't. It was their last song on their last studio album, and the lyrics... well they kind of gave it away, didn't they. They were already broken up by then, but still! Of course they had to end it all just the way in which they started out, by being more clever than most, if not everyone else.

First album of 2020 that's really grabbed me. Really fantastic house beats, and done by an Asian American too! Not often that one of us actually ends up doing music for a career, our parents are all too often pushing us to become doctors, lawyers, or engineers haha. And no, this is not K Pop.

Haven’t done so in a little while. It’s not my favourite smiths album but Paint a Vulgar Picture and I Won’t Share You are two of my favourites.

Testament-Titans of Creation
How they managed to convince me Applewhite (Heaven's Gate leader) was horrible, I don't know.
