This is indoctrination at the highest level. Frightening stuff. This kind of shit needs to be stopped, and those teachers need to be fired.

while these kids singing this song is ridiculous, there are death threats now being thrown at this school's principal. that's not right. i do wonder if your reactions were the same when a song was sung by 100 children from louisiana, mississippi and alabama for george w. and laura bush at the easter roll in 2006. the lyrics were: Our country’s stood beside us People have sent us aid. Katrina could not stop us, our hopes will never fade. Congress, Bush and FEMA People across our land Together have come to rebuild us and we join them hand-in-hand! (source: blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2006/04/17/out-of-the-mouths-of-babes) and when you consider that they did fuck all for those kids and their communities, that's what appalls me the most.

No matter which party is involved, it's wrong. Obama isn't to blame here, just the idiotic teacher. I hope she gets fired. As for the death threats? Of course that's not right, either. But she should be fired.

^ thank you. all or nothing.
i don't understand how it's indoctrination, though. they're saying nothing about his policies or politics. the lyrics are fairly innocent. it's still inappropriate for the kids to be singing it, but i can't see it as indoctrination.

It could be worse. They could be teaching them about God.

i just watched the daily show dealing with that subject. and i must say, yes, of course jon steward is not a republican and yes he takes things out of context for comedian purpose but what really disturbes me is that people on fox news seriously point to the third reich or the khmer rouge when talking about that topic. while i still wonder how a single teacher could make it to the national news these people clearly link this thing to obama. cause when you say "indoctrination" (at the highest level) it implies that these kids are manipulated by a governmental plan. and this is just a blatant lie in this case. it was a single teacher - obama had nothing to do with it so why the fuck is this a national topic? and i must say i don't know wether this is accurate or not, but this was obviously part of a programm to worship all presidents wich makes it even more ridiculous. all in all the tone on fox news really tells how "neutral" these "journalists" are. AND! where was the great scandal after this kathrina poem? WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN, PROTECTOR OF UNITED STATES SCHOOL CHILDREN NL4E? or didn't you care because it was bush?

If it's an isolated incident, sure. But it's occuring everywhere. Look from just this past week at what CNN did: www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2009/10/07/school_kids_sing_for_health_care_reform_on_set_of_cnn.htmlObama is a demagogue, and that's more down to the media, but regardless it's a very dangerous proposition.

so again, you are accusing obama for this? Firstly, I have blamed the media and made that pretty clear. Secondly, while Obama has denounced such actions he doesn't exactly help himself, does he? He's not to blame, mind you. That's why I hated this past election. Of course Obama was going to win - due to the political science courses I've taken in recent months, elections are based on the popularity of the incumbent and the economy - rendering campaigns almost meaningless (a bit more complicated than that, but I don't feel like going into it) But how the media thought he was the second coming only fed his ego.

due to the political science courses I've taken in recent months, elections are based on the popularity of the incumbent and the economy - rendering campaigns almost meaningless it took you a political science course to recognise that??? ;D nah, just kiddin. first: yes we know you hate media campaigns. my impression is you don't like media campaigns that cheer obama and call campaigns against him objective journalism. i mean the campaign against his health care program was shameful! second: there have always been media campaigns! politicians use the media and the media uses politicians. remember when journalists were allowed to ride on the tanks in iraq in 2003 being live in action showing how fucking cool this war is? this was a campaign too - planned and executed by bushies administration to get people behind him. did you also hate that? it worked pretty well didn't it? especially if you consider that journalists were not allowed to show the coffins coming back from iraq wich is censorship, actually. third: if you consider obama voters only made their decisions because of the media campaigns and the fact that you voted against the majority proves that you could see the truth behind it, does that mean that all people who voted against george bush in 2004 were the ones who could look behind the media campaigns that ensured him his reelection?
