Whatever. One less contender Mitt Romney has to deal with for the 2012 nomination. Come on Mitters!

I'd love to see the Republicans nominate a Mormon.
There are a lot of people that don't like Mormons, and many of those people are Republicans.

I'd love to see the Republicans nominate a Mormon. There are a lot of people that don't like Mormons, and many of those people are Republicans. I know what you mean, but fuck those Republicans. I can't stand that mentality. I hate the fact that there was a big deal made about Obama's race, and I hate the fact that there was a big deal about JFK's religion, and now Romney's. One more time - the presidency is about leadership, and not about race or religion. But let's use JFK as an example here - no one thought the US would elect a Catholic then, but they did. So who knows? (And of course with Obama - no one expected a black president, so who knows once again?). There's a first for everything. Romney, while not making an official statement yet if he's running or not, is def. the favorite and thus front runner currently. Of course that means fuck all - we're 3 years away, and front runners tend to die: Hillary Clinton, Rudy Gulliani, anyone? But Mitts my boy, and I'm rooting for him as long as another candidate doesn't appear who I favor more, and by the shape of the GOP i don't see that happening. Mind you, while the GOP is indeed in tatters, I do believe Romney is a true, viable candidate who would do this country proud....He's the only glimmer of hope for this party atm. (Sandford just fucked himself over, Palin is a joke, McCain wont run again, Jindal seems as fake as Obama and if Obama fails why would the electorate elect the Republican equivalence?, Tim Pawlentry has a decent shot but has very little name recognition, and Huckabee is an evangelical nutcase....Romney it is, not only by default but also because he's damn good)

I never liked Romney during the campagn. But I saw him doing a post-mortem on he election for one of the networks, and he was so articulate and coherent. After months of McCain, he was a breath of fresh air. Look out for him in '12.
Huckabee's not so bad. I like him. I saw him make a speech before he got big. Aside from a very funny joke about a rabbi, a catholic priest and a methodist minister, he didn't mention God or religion once. He said there were 3 things we need to do:
1 - Produce our own energy. We can't depend on anyone else, let alone tin-pot dictators. He proposed energy independence in 10 years. Now we have the nightmare of cap-trade. Can you imagine the US gov't running that? Our solution to carbon based energy? Windmills. Good luck with that one. 2 - Feed ourselves. 3 - Manufacture everything we need.

Yeah, it's a shame no one is 100% perfect that doesn't excuse them for not practicing what they publicly preach. there wouldn't be much of a problem if they weren't so "family values."
