I apologize if some of these points were already made and I am not sure why I feel the need to reiterate but.....
If you listen to the boot vs watching the actual video Liam actually sounds better in the video versions.
No disrespect to the taper(respect) but an audience recorded show I dont care who it is singing it will sound dramatically different. Just listen how muffeled and distant the music sounds! The vocals almost sound isolated and alone. Also if you read the comments from the people that attended the show, although they clearly understand it is not 94-96, they felt there were signs of improvement.
I saw them three times(MSG) being the best, SD being the worst, I know how Liam can sound. But watch the footage of Songbird and Wonderwall and even though this is poor quality as well, he sounds quite good here.
I know he is not what he was but I think there will be off nights/rough bits but at the gigs it is quite different given the proper sound/mix,etc.
Finally, no disrespect to anyone here and everyone of couse is entitled to their opinion, that said for a band that is 15 yrs in it is hard for me to understand how some are so strongly hating the recorded versions of tsotl and Falling down? I can understand Ain't got nothin creating this kind of reaction but the other two are fine examples of what Oasis are all about and does best. Does it really matter if the lyrics are not the greatest( not that I am putting the lyrics down) but since the early days of Rock n Roll from Do wop, Elvis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, etc. it was about the melody and beat not Tutti Frutti wop bam boo? Many of the artists(not the latter) did not write there own songs! My current Oasis playlist: Ldsmd(demo Liam vocal), Eyeball Tickler(demo no problem with Liams vox here), Tsotl and Falling down (chem Remix) In a time where most bands dont last more than a few years, I am quite content to be getting these( even if they did decide to put Aint got nothin on the album) and even if there is not one other good one on the album, it has been a pretty good ride and find it hard to complain especially in light of the American Music scene over the same time period!
SORRY FOR THE LENGTH OF THIS RANT!

I would reply with more, but I agree.
The boot, as awesome as it is to get, is not dead on. As you said, it is muffled. Unless someone is recording this professionally, it will always be a bit tricky to tell.

As long as he sounds great on the albums, I could really care less about the concerts.
The concert lasts less than two hours. An album is forever. Every singer has off nights, but Liam's voice has been in decline. Deal with it. (not directed towards OP, but to people who bitch and moan about his voice)

Maybe the origin of the recording may prejudice, but the other way around is also valid. I mean those gigantic amplifiers can really hide a couple of loose notes there...

From the videos his voice doesn't sound as good as it could be, but the key thing is that it's better than the last tour already. It's not as nasal as before, and it doesn't sound like he's shouting through the songs. He can't stretch words too well though.
I wonder how he'd sound if he lowered the height of his mic...

I hate to say it, but there some prize tossers on Oasis forums......Liams vocals have always been great live....sometimes if you analyse them to death in bad recordings etc you can say he shouted there or cut short there....and that has been true, which has come from singing to big crowds and trying too hard to reach the back row imo lol
But Seattle is truely excellent, as a boot it is way ahead of anything I have heard in a long time...CS is wonderful...Lyla is very good......Slide away is magical.....if any 'real' Oasis fans don't like Liams singing on this gig I suggest they leave now and never come back as this is what the band and Liam are about!!!
There is this weird memory of Liams voice being perfect in the past, utter bollox, watch Knebworth ffs, he has always been about rock n roll!!

I think he really sounds good(Tsotl Vancouver) again keep in mind how muffeled the recording is(you can barely here the guitars yet he is not shouting and he is annuciating each word more!
Again, not meant as a slight to those posting the videos(happy to see them, respect) but it is hard for anyone to sound phenomenal base on this kind of recording.
Listen to live audience recordings of the Roses or not really a fan of Snow Patrol but listen to that guy on an audience recording.
Have all the doubters heard Eyeball Tickler demo? I think that is Liams rawest, most aggressive in years! Also on Ldsmd!

I have the soundboard of 26.8.2008 and I do not agree. Liam vox is okay, but only okay. The band pull together and kick arse, thus making Liam sound very good. Martin Manchester, England.

Would you consider sharing the soundboard version? Also do you agree that Vancouver he seems to be better especially on tsotl?
