They rarely are, but this one may be dead nuts, effectively eliminating 20 inconsequential seconds from the beginning, middle and end....ESPECIALLY the end.
Still a great tune, but the 4 minute version is locked in.

I think the radio edit is better personally. Of all the songs to drag on, I don't think this was it.

I think the radio edit is better personally. Of all the songs to drag on, I don't think this was it. i concur. precise and to the point. which is what rock n roll is all about then innit??

Sometimes...but then there's songs like Champagne Supernova that come in at 7 1/2 minutes that you wish never ended. The more things in a song, the easier it is to stretch out. And The Shock is as bare as it gets, which is why I prefer to short version. For instance, I could listen to Falling Down another minute or so, simply because there's a million things to focus on in the song

For instance, I could listen to Falling Down another minute or so, simply because there's a million things to focus on in the song so i take it that you're more into falling down than tsotl? as i stated in a previous thread, i think tsotl is decent, but nothing special. however, falling down is ace. i, myself am a huge advocate for sotsog and hearing "fd" gives me hope that they're going back to psychadelia. liam's voice is sounding better and i have high hopes that doys is gonna be great. lets hope that tsotl is just another typical first single and they have more tricks up their sleeve...

and by the way... champagne supernova is one of my favorite oasis songs. i truly think its one of the top 25 songs of all time. it's an absolute masterpiece
