I wander if you have eaten garbage for saying so much shit.. And how can you judge an album with only 2 tracks? What would you have thought of MORNING GLORY judging the album on ROLL WITH IT and HEY NOW? What would you have thought of DEFINITELY MAYBE judging the album on UP IN THE SKY and DIGSY'S DINER? What would you have thought of REVOLVER judging the album on Yellow Submarine & Love You To? The difference there was that noel had wrote 11 songs per album, now he's only writing 6 per album and we know that liam, gem and andy aren't going to hit the heights of a noel on form. Put really aside from the come in come out in shock it's nearly down there with money where your mouth... Falling Down is legendary though 'Falling Down' is more immediate, but far inferior to TSOTL in every way possible. I haven't enjoyed an Oasis song this much since 2000 with Go Let It Out.

TSOTL is wayyyy better than Falling Down. it's some proper O-a-sis Exactly. Fucking love the driving guitars on the track. Relentless.

TSOTL > FD >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>DBTT +1 The Shock is indeed stunnning. Best work they've done in years. Stunning is the word I would use as well. I didn't think Noel was capable of this shit anymore. It's almost perfect. Liam's voice is crisp and clear (how fucking long has it been since we could say that??), it has balls, it sounds modern, a driving rock song, etc.

They're two different tunes and I have to be in a certain mood to listen to TSOTL, but they're both incredible songs. Falling Down, along with Part of the Queue and The Importance of Being Idle, are the best Noel-sung tunes since DLBIA. TSOTL is the best opening single since DYKWIM?, without a doubt.

I like The Shock Of The Lightning a lot better, finally an Oasis song with feedback, a pick scrape, full distortion on the guitars, there is a fuckin drum solo in it for cryin out loud and just a fuckin balls out rocker. But I also really like Falling Down, this one is just better. Both piss all over every song from their last 3 albums. This is exactly what I think as well. Im really excited for the new album now

Just got done listening to both songs for the first time on full volume with headphones on, and i must say both are absolutely amazing! I'd certainly give falling down the edge, I really believe it's one of my favorite songs ever, already. But tsotl is also fantastic- finally a rocking tune! I agree with the people who are saying you can't compare the 2 though, b/c their on complete opposite ends of the spectrum.

Really can't compare the songs against each other. You have one rockin' tune that fuzes some of the classic Oasis sound with some fresh impetus, a very good first single. Falling Down is a driving number with amazing lyrics and some of Noel's better vocals in my opinion. It goes nowhere, it goes everywhere, I love it.
I'm impressed by both.
