Edited Post: I think because this came out of nowhere, we're just treating this song as we would a leak. But it has been officially released! Let us help Oasis get a 9th UK number 1 in just three days (with no airplay!)! Join the facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=34547645341) and tell your friends about, tell Oasis fans who don't know about the song yet about it. I've bought my copy, and I wish that was enough to get the boys a number 1, but it isn't. Let's get viral! Link to official itunes page: ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/browserRedirect?url=itms%253A%252F%252Fax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net%252FWebObjects%252FMZStore.woa%252Fwa%252FviewAlbum%253Fid%253D286882796%2526s%253D143444Original Post:It would seem that Falling Down has been officially released, and is now available from many different itunes stores around the world. Let's do our a bit to make sure it has a high chart entry on Sunday. I just purchased it from the UK store and posted a positive review: 'Falling Down is the first song to be released from the forthcoming Oasis album, 'Dig Out Your Soul'. The song is centred around a groove based rhythm section supplied by Zak Starkey's bright drumming and Gem Archer's fleet fingered basswork. Swirls of analogue synths and melotrone (on a flute setting reminiscent of 'Strawberry Fields Forever') surround the song in an epic soundscape that has been lacking from the band's last two albums. The song has an unusal structure, and is a far cry from the verse/bridge/chorus repeat progressions Oasis usually employ. The song's lyrics suggest a vain search for religion, encapsulated best in the chorus lines - 'I tried to talk to God to no avail [...] I said "If you won't save me, please don't waste my time". If the upcoming album is anything like this, then music lovers everywhere are set for a real treat.'

It's on page two of the UK itunes page.
If you're on the US store, I don't think it will be available until its Thursday over there. That would explain why it was available in Japan first and then the UK a few hours later.

Who releases a surprise single on a wednesday night/thursday morning with absolutely no promotion? What are they thinking? If this goes anywhere in the charts they are geniuses!

Maybe they saw the impending shitstorm and decided to just give it the greenlight.

To me, it's official if you can buy it legally in your own store. How many weeks till TSOTL is released. This has to have been a mistake.

My itunes page lists it as 'Falling Down - single'. Not much more information, and has the 'Dig Out Your Soul' artwork as its cover. I guess the whole thing is relying entirely on viral marketing. First we had the remix, and then people tell their friends that the original tune is available on itunes.
I think it will get a UK chart entry on Sunday. How high depends on how many of us Oasis fans buy a copy we already have for free.
I'm going to start a facebook group about the song. Give you a link when I'm finished.

I get the feeling that the album version may also appear on the TSOTL single as a b-side.
Still cant get my head around there only being one b-side so I wouldnt rule out.
1. The Shock Of The Lightning 2. Falling Down (album) 3. Falling Down (re-mix)

Bloody Hell Folks this song is Awesome. I'm bouncing!!! It's not a grower, it's a fucking classic, if the beatles had wrote this it would be hailed as a triumph.
It's experimental, the vocals are top notch, the lyrics too, and there's that swagger that induces a ''let's have it'' smile, throw a punch in the air, in the chorus.
This is a song that says Oasis are truly back...
9.1/10
an afterthought, that bbc one said none of the demo's were on the album. But i think the middle 8 of record machine could be included in some song...
Nothin on me we're getting a new chorus- so it really wont be the same song Stop the Clocks- Maybe hidden Rm- We're going to get the middle 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
